“THE GOLF CLUB” TEES OFF NEXT GEN GOLFING THIS AUGUST

HB Studios Announces Full Retail Release Date For Golf Simulator

Canadian video game developer, HB Studios, today announced that its golf simulation, The Golf Club will launch on Xbox One through Xbox Live on August 19, 2014. The Golf Club will also leave early access for a full retail release on Windows PC through digital download distribution service Steam the same day. The PlayStation 4 version of The Golf Club will launch later this month pending certification approval. Credited with making some of the most critically acclaimed sport franchises on the EA SPORTS label, HB Studios has developed the first golf title to bring procedurally generated courses to next gen console. The Golf Club is a highly realistic game that allows players to fully customize their golfing experience by creating and playing the course of their dreams with the built-in Greg Norman Course Designer.

“We are incredibly excited to give golf fans the game they’ve always wanted,” said Anthony Kyne, Producer at HB Studios. “No other golf game provides players with this level of customization and sophistication in course design on PC and next generation consoles. We’ve worked extremely hard to get The Golf Club ready for launch, so it’s really rewarding to officially announce the launch date and share that with our fans.”

The Golf Club is a fully featured golfing experience where users can play against friends’ and rivals’ best rounds in turn-based/asynchronous competition modes enhanced by cloud-based technology. The game supports Tours & Tournaments, stroke play, match play, and 4-ball.

The Golf Club’s Greg Norman Course Designer allows players to build an unlimited number of golf courses, which can then be shared and played with friends online. New courses can be generated in a matter of seconds by selecting a theme, terrain features, and number of holes. Players can then enjoy a full suite of editing tools from changing the time of day to placing hazards and objects to create the ultimate golf challenge. Players can also discover new courses built by friends and the community by filtering through rank and difficulty, as well as interact with new members of The Golf Club through the Message Center.

The game is due for worldwide release on Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and PC Windows platforms priced $34.99.

The Golf Club comes complete with three modes: stroke play, match play and 4-ball, no loading times between holes, and the course designer feature.

Good idea. I didn't have to call it out. I'm sorry. And I did report it as well, just awaiting the deletion.

His post was not trolling and you confronting him is more trolling than anything he did.
I disagree with both of your statements there. He went off topic to take a shot at the Xbox One.

He could have said just, "I'm getting this for PS4, it's gonna be awesome!" Agree?

I saw your report. I already told you it's not trolling. I'm not deleting it.

You can disagree all you want but you are wrong.

You've been here a month, he's been here over a 10 years and is well known as an MS guy.

Like I said earlier. It was not trolling. Drop it....

I know at the site you came here from your used to every comment being some form of a shot at someone/something. That isn't the case here. This is why we have the strict TOS.

Atom,

I'm not sure how you think I handled it wrong and I'm sorry you feel that way.

Like I said originally, it was not trolling and I asked you to drop it.

There are no biased mods here. You're report is sent to every mod and that post has probably been seen now a couple dozen times so clearly everyone is in agreement there was no trolling involved.

Is it at possible in your mind that you might just be wrong here?

The golf forum is a tight forum. For the most part, everyone knows everyone else. His post was in no way shape or form a shot at xbone.

However, what I find troubling and what you are ignoring is that most of the initial responses to this thread were similar posts in a negative fashion against Sony (feel free to re-read if you'd like) and they were made with the same facetious manner in which the post in question was.

Why weren't you up in arms about how this site is run after those?

I would love to know why you didn't say one thing about anybody saying something negative about sony but jump all over one post about MS.

Ironically, there would have been ZERO discussion about this if you had just ignored that first post. In case you noticed, no one else has said a word. You are the one that started all this unnecessary off topic conversation.

All that being said, it would behoove you not to base the merit of the website off the fact that I disagree with you here but that is certainly your choice but I will say that if you really do view that as trolling you will be hard pressed to find a website that will meet your standards.

For the third time now. I will ask you to drop it. Please PM me with anymore questions. I don't want to take this thread further off topic for something completely unnecessary.

I get what you are saying with a heavier hitter vs a more finess player. Still, at this price point I think the value in course variety trumps all. And who knows, maybe in a future version we can get a set number of points and make characters with different strengths and weaknesses. The problem is 95 % go for the heavy hitter anyway. Need proof? Play some powerstar and do rivals mode. The vast majority of the ghost rounds will be Frank unless its a par 3 course.

Extremely disappointing that PS4 will be delayed, but at least it still said later this month. As I said before this is going to be a game I spend more time on creating courses which will be a good change of pace from Madden and NHL. Been waiting for a course creator for years and can't wait to try and recreate local courses.

Anyone have any ideas for their 1st course. I plan to make one with a bit of water that punishes mistakes heavily on over aggressiveness. Some tricky pin placements and dual tiered greens, where going too aggressive at a flag could leave you with a putt back up the tier and tricky to get close let alone sink. Definitely one island green inspired by 17 at sawgrass as well.

I really hope that we can use remote play for is PS4 folks. That would make it nice to be able to create courses on the go.

Has there been any talk about equipment? Or will it just be generic???

I haven't personally heard anything. It would be nice to have, but not a game breaker at all for me.

I'm sure some with the PC Stream would know.

I am going to be making so many courses. Going to piss a lot of people off.

I've seen very little about this game, so forgive me if this is obvious one way or the other. Does anyone know how realistic the course designer is? Would I be able to make reasonable simulations of my local courses? I could see myself spending many hours designing my home course if that was the case.

From what I have read and seen. Yes you can playing course wise. As for surrounding structures I think it's limited. But if your like me and just want the correct yardage, hole and hazard placement you should be good.
