NHL 15 News Post

Puck Daddy has posted their interview with Sean Ramjagsingh, Producer of NHL 15. During the interview they discuss teammate AI, atmosphere in different arenas, puck physics and much more.

A few other tidbits below.

Quote:
  • Details on what features will be in the gen-3 consoles (PS3, Xbox 360) will be out in the next few weeks.
  • There will be a new Stanley Cup celebration cut scene in the game. They’re currently making tweaks and re-shooting the end scene.
  • The Winter Classic venues will be playable only on gen-3 consoles (Michigan Stadium is not included). They will not be in the PS4/XBOX One games as the NHL team wanted to focus on building the unique arenas for all 30 teams in the game.

I dont know if EA has the NHL exclusive license just like Madden. I know that 2K did not just produce after 2k10.

Let's talk about penalties specifically, hitting from behind. This development team seems to believe that hitting from behind his only illegal at the boards. In that situation it's called boarding. But hitting from behind is illegal in open ice too. But perfectly legal in EA NHL's series.

They don't. 2K stopped making NHL games because their series became unprofitable.

Actually read the interview and one funny line I saw:

Quote:
we take the feedback from the fans; and then we as producers and a development team push ourselves to try and innovate every year and think of bigger and better things that haven’t been thought of.
lol, so it sounds like "We listen to feedback from the fans, but then we'll go out and think of/implement our own ideas that fans never thought of/wanted"

And regarding puck physics change, from recently playing a game again, one thing I hope gets fixed is amount of rebound chances for the CPU players, not to mention the perfect angle bounces where the puck just seems to bounce off something(specifically the goalie) and go to the exact angle of the closest CPU player.

I am anticipating the puck to be stuck to the cpu's stick again and for my players to let pucks go right on passed.
