Madden NFL 15 News Post

EA Sports has just released another Madden NFL 15 trailer. This one focuses on the War in the Trenches 2.0. Check out some of the new screenshots here and the official blog for more details.

Quote:
In Madden 15, you’ll deliver on defense with more effective tackling and pass rush tools that put you in control of each play, all from a new perspective.

See your defensive gameplay from an all-new perspective. By pressing left on the D-Pad, you’ll activate the new defensive camera angle, putting you right in the action. To lock on to a specific player using the defensive camera, press right on the D-Pad.

The core of football starts at the line of scrimmage. The addition of War in the Trenches to Madden 25 overhauled the offensive line play by giving offensive linemen the intelligence to work as a team and create an authentic passing pocket.

Looks like a lot of fun, agree with many of the complaints, namely that tackle and post-penalty reactions. Encroachment or otherwise would be nice to see the offensive line react in some way once they're set (leading to false starts, neutral zone infractions, etc)

Either way, some neat tools to play with on defense, looking forward to it.

Even speaking as someone who generally enjoys the Madden series as it currently exists and is already buying this year's game, this sentiment doesn't exactly endear too well to the current game.

Madden NFL 15 ought to stand and be evaluated upon on its own merits, not its down-the-road potential.

Looks like an improvement over 25 for sure. Im still waiting on 34 d linemen to start eating up multiple blockers like they should. Would be nice to have a pre snap ability to have linemen cut down blockers to try and create a pile around the goal line or short yardage situations

15 is a true next gen game, I think my expectations are way beyond what you guys are expecting in the next two years.

I cant believe how some people can watch the players move and dont see anything wrong with it. The players move so awkwardly. Christ..wake up people. Its 2015 and Madden animations/gameplay are so far behind every other video game.

It will be very nice to be able to set the edge with an end or olb finally! So many times online you know what the dude was gonna do last yr but was just defenseless... Defense is back baby! This is going to be a good year for chess match type players and a bad year for guys who try and cheat the AI. I'm also guessing that user "ballhawking" will be back this year: ie, jumping routes that your opponent blindly throws for pick sixes again! lol Good luck noobs.

Can't you just discuss the feature like the rest of us sometimes?

Yep looking forward to it. August can't come soon enough.

It's such an eye soar watching the QB drop backs....mind as well give them roller blades. If they'd overhaul the player movement, then we'd be in business...but, that aint happening.

For me this game will be truly next gen when they gut all of the last gen and legacy animations out and replace them with new stuff. When Madden 2001 for PS2 dropped there was nothing on field that resembled PS1. I need that feeling back.

Seriously JP may need Madden Blinders rehab and someone might have to stage an intervention at some point.

I rarely reply in the forums, but I want to give my two cents here.

I see some improvement like everyone else here I also see the legacy issues we still have almost ten years later. Back a couple years ago when Cam took over one of thw main concerns almost everyone had were OL/DL interactions and them being the foundation of Football. Well guess what they've fixed for the most part. While it's taken too long it's still being addressed. Also running animations.. well its being fixed. Terrible zone logic.. again being fixed.

The reason I'm coming out and posting is simply to say when are we as a community going to bw satisfied. If we had a true NFL sim I would bet the majority of us would not enjoy getting our virtual butts handed to us over and over again.

Madden will never be what that other game was or is. Fact is EA is here to make money and not share it with any other company where the NFL is concerned. We all know what happens when you have no competition.

But to end my post I will only say Cam and his team or fixing problems we've all asked to be fixed. Not all at one time like we would like. But its being done none the less. And personally thats all I can ask for.

I'm afraid there will always be something they need to fix with a 2.0 and "under the hood" instead of making a football game we see on Sundays. This dance is getting old! The sad thing is that the other titles like FIFA, NBA Live, and NHL seem to be working tirelessly to give their fans the next gen game they deserve. The Madden Team is just a bunch s**t talking guys that think it's cool to bow up their chest when nobody's forcing them to push the envelope!

When our Madden NFL Football game plays like football, instead of Maddenball.
