I am SOOOO glad that EA took the time and effort to put Peyton Manning's "Omaha" call in the game! This was the number one priority for changes to be made between M25 and M15. No wonder things like real-time physics, foot-planting, ratings that actually work, better animations, better tacking physics, and better CCM/Franchise mode had to take a back seat.

I will DEFINITELY buy this game now that I can hear Peyton say "Omaha" for 30 straight seconds before he snaps the ball!

Way to go EA! You really give us Maddenites the things we crave most! If it's in the game, it's in the game.

The original NFL Blitz games (1997 - 2003) also had trash talk between players before and after plays. I was disappointed when EA Sports left it out of their 2012 remake. It actually does add something to a game's fun factor.
Actually a very cool feature. I've never seen this feature until now. Thanks!

Would be cool to have a signature cadence button you can press pre snap like the quite the crowd animation. Would be funny and annoying at the same time having Peyton yell Omaha 10 times before the snap.

I don't care if he says Omaha, Portland or Columbus.

I feel like there are bigger things that need attention. Auto-Subs being one of the biggest issues. I get that they will be adding new sounds captured on the field and that is cool... but don't talk this up like it is something brand new either.

On top of that, since when do cadences matter in a game of Madden?
I also hated that. It would just lull me to sleep any time I played the colts in that game.

So what I'm getting is that people pick and choose what they want in the game.

Something in the game which reflects true to life NFL they don't want = don't want it you suck EA

Something not in the game they want = EA Sports, if it's in the game it's NOT in the game

They put in a small detail to the game, I'm happy about it. Would I rather have some other stuff? Of course. But to be a "pick and choose" critic...jeez.

I agree. I look at it like this. If it's something added to the game that makes it feel like Sunday whether I want it or not, it's a great additions.

The only thing I don't care about and hate that they spend time on is MUT because I view it as a money maker and does nothing towards making each game look and sound like Sundays.

Every fiber of my body wants to get on these boards and blast MUT and all who play it, but I refrain lol

Agreed. However I am not really bashing the mode. It's already been installed and as much as I don't agree with it and believe the implementation resources took away from gameplay fixes that were needed.

It was added a few years back, and it's there now, but no need to keep working on it and adding features to that when gameplay, presentation and franchise need work.

Why is this news??? This is like the "wind socks" push they had a few years ago. Manning says Omaha....OK *sigh*

# 32 roadman @ 06/17/14 09:36 AM
It becomes big news if you make it big news.

I just found about this now and E3 was all last week. I didn't see it reported during E3, but after E3.

I'm ok with it being in the game because the media made a big deal about it last year in the playoffs, but it doesn't phase me one way or the other.

Opportunity cost.

I know, I know, each group works on different things. But could the people that recorded this have been recording mo-cap? Could they have been recording commentary for pre/half/post game show?

I guess this goes towards EA's simulation pledge, but man, seems like there are much, much more important things to address.

I just said this in another thread, but it applies here. Their wide net, segmented approach just doesn't do it for me. The game is great at abolutely nothing. Go all in on something and wow us. Do something that makes us say, "this crushes that other game!" As is, these micro improvements allow us to make comparisions to games 6+ years old.

It's a tough balance I enjoy MUT (it is the devil) and would like to see some changes made in certain parts of that game mode. But you are correct "free" modes and gameplay should be the priority but with the amount of money MUT makes i'm not surprised that other modes aren't getting as much attention as they deserve.

Exactly, we all know that many areas of gameplay need to be fixed but it is mind numbing how some ppl complain about everything added to the game that is not directly related to gameplay or franchise mode. This isn't exactly "ground breaking news" but it is something that will add realism to one of the biggest icons in the history of the sport.

If they dont add the feature where peyton throws ducks and picks the whole time in playoffs theres no point. I mean u said if its in the game its in the game right?

Some of us want him to PLAY like one of the biggest icons in the history of sports, not sound like him.

-They could've fixed his drop back
-They could've added signature animations
-They could've re-tiered the playbook so he can call the plays he does irl
-They could've fixed the timing of the routes & drops
-They could've added real time route progression / head tracking
-They could've added clutch ratings

But instead, we get "Omaha! Omaha!". Sweet!

Is there anything being done in Madden 15 you like? Judging from your posts recently I would say no.

Graphics made a great leap
Presentation has improved
I've seen som inaccurate passes in the most recent vids
I've heard about better coverage, but knowing WR/DB interaction hasn't been touched, idk
I'm interested in True Step being implemented for non-ball carriers, but I'm not seeing it

Improvement is better than none. It just seems that my personal priority list is in reverse order of EA's.

Yet we get Peyton yelling Omaha a bunch of times in a game. Does this mean every QB gets their special cadence or is this going to be like Kapernick where he is the only player with Tattoos?

I doubt every qb will get there special cadence esp since they only seem care about top 10 qb's in the game.

that's bad as them saying nfl films has all 32 qb's voices recorded but they could only understand the top guys??? because of to much noise etc.

maybe they can give it to eli since I heard somebody say he was using it before peyton and we can have a Omaha game with both manning saying Omaha 1,000 times lmfao.
