Americans seem to tire quickly of the status quo and there are few things we love more than seeing the guy at the top get torn down. Oh, and we also love sports.

Combine these three aspects and you have a recipe for a surplus of disdain for the two-time defending NBA champions, the Miami Heat.

I was only a kid when Michael Jordan and Co. went on their incredible runs during the 1990's -- but I don't recall the resounding hate for the Bulls like we're seeing with the Heat. At the time it seemed as if America loved to see the dynasty thrive and the greatest of all time continuously claim his crown.

Sound Off: Why does America dislike the Miami Heat?

This falls largely on coaching to me. But tbh, i think most of there problems are coaching related.

Oh definitely a lot of the blame goes to Brooks.

I sports hate LeBron, but I don't hate LeBron. He seems like a genuinely good dude, and he's obviously a tremendous basketball player. He made a big mistake with The Decision, but he understands that now.

I get sick of his flopping/crying for fouls. His size allows other players to get away with some stuff guarding him, but he's so much more talented than most of those guys, I wish he'd just shut up and play.

I used to love Wade, but I think the 2006 Finals ruined him. He expects to get a call every time now, like he did against the Mavs back then. He annoys me way more than LeBron at this point with his antics.

My reason for disliking the Heat, Starts and Ends with Wade. Never been of his stuff. Great Player, but he's the worst even when he was in his prime he did the same stuff he does now. I don't mind Lebron or Bosh. I'm actually starting to like Bosh quite a bit.

indy messed up badly when they traded for the guys and didn't use them much. you'll never win relying on your starters. i believe ivan johnson would've been a great player for them good hustle and intense

I wanted Miami to get him, but I think he took a contract overseas. If I'm not mistaken.

Timmy did something similar a few years back by opting out and signing for half the amount just so the Spurs could stay under the luxury tax and make key signing/re-signings. It was very honorable and classy of him. But of course, if LeBron was to do the same thing again this off-season then it would obviously be bad for the league because his LeBron James and we all hate him, don't we.

Out of curiosity, how do the haters feel when LeBron is playing for Team USA? It's funny how the emotions quickly change when you're rooting for a team that happens to have LeBron in it :P

I didn't like the way they got together like others felt it wasn't right but obviously that's a matter of opinion, was over it shortly after it happened no biggie.

As far as Lebron I enjoy the hell out of seeing him play, especially when he's working all parts of his game...definitely the best player in the world and will go down as one of the greats. I think he gets more criticism than he deserves personally, even the greats we cheered for coming up didn't take every game winning shot. My issue with Lebron is dude is 250, 6'8" and flops like hell all the damn time. I wish he would get that Shaq mentality, going to foul me or play me physical...you're going to pay for it.

I'm not saying throw fist or elbows but you hit someone with your body enough word will get out and they may be a little hesitant to do it as much....just my thought. Personally I don't care what his attitude is like off the court cause I don't see that part of him. He plays basketball, I enjoy watching basketball so that's all i'm concerned with.

For me the main reasons I can't stand Miami is Wade, Chalmers, 80% of their "fan base" and Ray Allen. For me Wade is so freaking annoying and I liked him when he won his first championship. I think he's a dirty player, whines like a little bitch all the time and on the sly tries to act tough. All the times he's hit someone and someone does it to him it's "oh there's no place for that in basketball" or if I remember correctly the time he said after the fact when someone fouled him hard that "he was lucky my kids were watching" man get out of here with that crap.

He did a complete 180 when Lebron came...I liken it so someone having an older brother who everybody knows is a beast...but the little brother acts tough cause he knows he has his big brother to cover his slack. (just my opinion and the way I see it) Then there was him talking about he doesn't get the respect he deserves....dude when you carried the Heat past Dallas that year you had much respect from most people who weren't Mav fans but then you resorted to the way you are now and many lost respect.

The fans...well nothing really needs to be said there, Ray Allen..i'm a Celtics fan so there's that.

The Heat bandwagon fans is what makes me dislike the Heat (don't like using the word hate). The same fans that leave the arena early in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals. The same young bandwagon fans who never watched Jordan play and tell you that LeBron is better. The same fans who are now making an excuse that LeBron "doesn't have enough help." The same fans who will become Knicks fans or Clipper fans or Cavalier fans this summer if LeBron chooses to leave.

For me its all about "The Decision" show

I don't care that you wanted to join your friends, or leave a cold city for a beach city "I would" But when he did a one hour show about his FA choice he lost me as a fan. Plus the not 1, not 2 etc.. just added more salt for me.

So I'll always root for anyone but the Heat while he is there

Because America likes an underdog and nothing about the heat says underdog America also dislikes them because their boring they win, win, win, lose, and win nothing fun about that

With the Heat not only is it one team being on top, but how they conspired to all team up together to do it. (especially Bron & Wade)

Lebron leaving his home town team to do it, the stupid decision thing on tv….it all left a bad taste in peoples mouths.
It's truly amazing to me. Lebron and Bosh were FREE AGENTS when they decided to choose a different place of employment.

We all seem to forget that it was their right to choose wherever they wanted to go!!! Yet this general sports neanderthal attitude remains about staying with one team forever. Those days are far long gone for most athletes.

If you want to….you can. But you have a right to work wherever you feel will give you the best chance at success not only for you, but what you feel is best for your family in regards to socially, economically and geography.

I grew up watching basketball in the 80's and as great as the Lakers and Celtics were…..they still lost…plenty. It's hard to win titles. Very hard. Yet people think the Heat were supposed to win it every year? They went to 4 straight Finals and won 2. Incredible stuff. And their work is still not done. Anyone who took the "not one, not two, not three literally are fools. Never been to a pep rally? That's all that was. Seriously. Yet in this 24/7 news cycle with tweets, blogs and ESPN sports porn everything is hyperbole to the extreme. It's really awful.

Shaq ran to LA…yet no one talks about that. Did he stick it out with Orlando?

Melo forced his way out of Denver….no talked about it. And he is about to leave again. LOL.

All the great teams had big 2 or big 3's. They still have to play 82 games, and win 4 playoff series. No one handed anything to any NBA Finals winner. All of it was earned with hard work and dedication.

Hate the Heat all you want..as a life long Heat fan (1988) am I enjoying it. It means we are winning titles.

Actually Melo caught plenty of flak because everyone questioned him and the Knicks as to why they would give up so much for a guy who was going to sign with them in the offseason anyway.

Shaq caught crap(obviously not the same since this was pre-blowup of Social Media)because it was reported at the time that he was more focused on going to LA for Movie Purposes, IIRC.

Don't really disagree with everything else you said but those two because I felt it was a bit inaccurate.
