2K Announces Expanded Euroleague Lineup for NBA® 2K15

25 Euroleague Basketball teams playable exclusively in NBA 2K15

2K announced today that NBA® 2K15, the next installment of the top-selling and top-rated NBA video game simulation franchise*, will include additional teams and players from the Turkish Airlines Euroleague as part of their exclusive multi-year global partnership. NBA 2K15 will be available on October 7 in North America, and on October 10 internationally for the PlayStation®3 and PlayStation®4 computer entertainment systems, the Xbox One all-in-one games and entertainment system and Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft; and Windows PC.

NBA 2K15 will feature 11 additional teams from the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, including top-level FC Bayern Munich of Germany, JSF Nanterre of France, Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul of Turkey and Partizan NIS Belgrade of Serbia, bringing the total number of playable Euroleague teams to 25, including every team that participated in the 2013-14 Turkish Airlines Euroleague. All squads will be fully updated to reflect trades accurate to the day of release**.

“The global response to the integration of Euroleague teams into the NBA 2K series last year was fantastic, and a key factor in our decision to include the full complement of 2013-14 Euroleague teams in NBA 2K15,” said Greg Thomas, President of Visual Concepts. “We know there’s a huge passion for basketball in Europe, and we’re excited to further expand the number of playable European teams to make this the most comprehensive basketball game ever.”

"After an exciting start last year, our partnership with 2K takes another strong step forward with an expansion of the Euroleague Basketball teams in NBA 2K15," added Jordi Bertomeu, President and CEO of Euroleague Basketball. "The appeal of our style of basketball to video game fans was evident right away with just 14 Euroleague Basketball teams last year, and we are sure that seeing many more of them in NBA 2K15 will be another hit."

Amen to that. I wish they would get back to creating the best possible NBA simulation like they used to do. Last couple years its been all about trying to cash in internationally and going after the casual basketball fan.

When applied to mygm these international teams make more sense. Then we could draft and stash.

It's also good to see other people lobbying for realism as pertains to the seeing prospects play.

We need:
1. A playable Training Camp to begin our Mygm. The real NBA season starts with TC.

2. Pre-Draft Scouting Features
Portsmouth Invitational
Draft Combine
ADIDAS Euro Camp

3. Las Vegas Summer League and Orlando Pro Summer League.

4. D-League

I been wishing for a deeper association for years. I loved the combine & summer league. I loved when you had to go through the D League to make the NBA. I would love for deeper offseason features & "draft stash"?!? That would be epic! They could even have cpu generated international players declare for FA each year, they wouldn't even have to be 90 ovr or 80 ovr or 20 year olds they can be college players who went overseas or 28 year old international players wanting to take their shot at the NBA. Now that would be a game worth $60+. I can dream right?

It's good to see that they really captured the dunking playstyle of the European teams. They really like to pack the paint...

So 25 European teams that will all play exactly the same as the 30 NBA teams?

I really don't like being so negative all of the time but I wonder what percentage of NBA 2K players have played more than 1 game with a Euroleague team.

I'd put the theoretical number at about 2% and that may be generous.

Conversely, the number of 2K players that have played more than 1 game with a classic roster is probably 95-99%.

Seems to be a misuse of time.

Like other posters have mentioned if you can stash picks oversea or sign overseas players in MyGM I'm all about this announcement, if it's just for quick games then I'm sure the fans who use it for that will be excited but if they are going to add them they can at least add the corrrect teams rosters

Companies like 2K and EA know everything their customers do in these games. They know which modes and teams people spend their time in. I remember EA saying only about 2% of Madden players imported rosters from NCAA. I was shocked that the number was that low.

Even though I am a fan of the Euroleague, I think it has more to do with 2K snagging more customers in Europe. I think we have reached the point of diminished to no return on the classic teams. Not to mention that the Euroleague license is probably cheaper than signing all of the legends we have been clamouring for.

Yes! I love the addition of Euroleague teams. And now, the more the merrier.

I want the option to go play in the Euroleague in MyCareer.

I actually enjoyed playing with the Euro teams in 2K14. It was a nice changeup and it was nice to play with some familiar faces. If they are updated like they say they are going to be this year, I will get to play with Dario Saric this season after all.

With the World Cup coming up this summer, I would have loved to have seen some national teams (still holding out hope). Does EA still hold the rights?

Also for the people that don't care about the Euroleague, why even click the link?

Yes. That's where the value is with the Euroleague, IMO. Only being able to play quick games without any context gets boring. I would love to see a standalone "Euro Season" mode complete with their group format. It would be kinda cool. MyGM mode integration would be sweet, too. Having marginal players who sit in free agency sign on to play elsewhere would be a nice changeup. Instead of now where a young marginal player would sit in the free agent pool for like 6 years. Drafting players and have them decide (through the player ambitions) to stay over in Europe. Maybe even permanently like Sergio Lull appears to be doing. Or, only come over to play for a winning NBA team. I don't play MyCareer mode much, but that would only add to it. Weighing lowball offers from NBA teams; or take a longer deal for more money to play in Europe. More should definitely be done with the Euroleague, though.

Those are some good ideas. There's so many things that they could do to make the Euroleague teams actually relevant outside of quick matches. I just have my doubts that they will actually do anything with them. More than likely they were just thrown in and expanded upon for marketing purposes.

I mean just look at the classic teams and how little was ever done with that great asset. In 2k11 there were the Jordan challenges which were absolutely amazing and sure in 2k12 they added more players and improved the broadcast side of things, but other than that they have pretty much done nothing with it. You would of thought by now their would be at least one great mode outside of quick matches dedicated to the classic players and teams but sadly there's nothing.

Will it come with authentic commentary, stadiums, etc? If not I don't see these teams getting a lot of use.

The big draw is getting euro rooks. Bogdan Bogdanovic, Dario Saric, Americans that get stashed in Europe like DeAndre Daniels etc. Makes life easier on roster creators.

If the current players look and play like their real life counter parts I don't CARE WHAT THE EUROLEAGUE PLAYERS LOOK LIKE

Focus on the CURRENT PLAYERS IN THE NBA. I swear the guys at 2K are mentally challenged sometimes.

Now I COMPLETELY AGREE that 2k Doesnt put FULL FOCUS on ANYTHING in their game. I mean Glitches in EVERY MODE. Using FAKE faces for Players(meaning using EUROLEAGUE players for Players they left out of game). I dont know WHO is QUALITY Control over there, but they are LACKING in identifying BUGS within the game.

What are you falling to realize is that the Game has Expanded WAY outside of US. So getting the EUROLEAGUE teams is GREAT to gather More Buyers who CANT catch NBA games on a Regular Basis, but CAN watch Euroleague. This leads to gaining MORE NBA fans in the Long run. I Personally enjoy the EuroLeague Teams, but i can understand why guys dont want them.

2k NEEDs to address Issues that have EXISTED for YEARS and get away from all this VC Crap. Make a game where USERs can Play ON-Line and OFF-Line with having to worry about Glitches. Not to much to expect from a $60 game.
