MLB 14 The Show News Post

MLB 14 The Show will be available as a Day 1 digital download at 12:01 AM EST on May 6th. (SEE UPDATES BELOW) Similar to how users were able to download the PS3 version, expect it to be available at that time, give or take a few minutes.

It doesn't appear as though you will be able to pre-download, as some hoped with the latest PlayStation update. VG24/7 noted Watch Dogs will be the first game available for pre-download, releasing on May 27th.

UPDATE: As of 10:30 AM EST, the game is still not available to download.

UPDATE #2: Due to unforeseen technical issues, MLB 14 The Show for PS4 is not currently available for download via the PlayStation Store. All parties are working as quickly as possible to remedy the issue. We’ll update this post as soon as a resolution is reached. Thank you for your continued patience.

UPDATE #3: Based off of the many responses, the download should be available for everyone now.

It's completely their fault if they continually don't take precautions to make sure their network infrastructure works.
This.. PSN does not have a stellar history when it comes to stuff like this.

you all shouldn't be so upset. this happens from time to time. I understand, time is valuable, and to have something pre ordered and pre paid, you expect what you are promised, however, there are obvious issues going on, and there always are in the technical world of the internet. So, we must exercise patience. It is a good quality to practice, whether or not you'd care to admit. Remember, those of us in Europe cannot get the game until tomorrow, so be grateful... and I hope the issues remain until midnight CET, and then I can get it the same times as all you suckers waiting up all night!

I just meant the taking off of work part, but point taken. Either way, this is an epic failure for a major product, especially when you are trying to get people to trend towards digital distribution. I am pretty close to throwing in the towel and going to get a copy tomorrow. They are gonna get one shot in the morning when I wake up and that is it.

People can't download their precious game at midnight and all the sudden the world is ending. Try and take a step back, and keep things in perspective.

First and definitely last time I ever pre order a game for download. My friends told me last week I was a fool for doing it anyway. Oh well. Lesson learned.

Look I feel for all of you. Most of you are right. You pay $60 and are promised something. And let's face it, as adults, we run out of things in life to get all giddy and excited about. This is one of the things we have. If it were me personally, I would be upset, very upset. Doubt I would be raging demanding a refund because that's not gonna happen and you're likely to get your download before that happens, and you're not gonna get a free game for this. But I would be angry, and more disappointed than anything. I just can't do the digital thing. I've never had a single problem with any disc. Lucky? Doubt it considering how many games I've bought in my life. I've got 10yr old games that are scratch free. Could that be it? Not sure. I'm sure everything will work out for you guys. But even guys like M.K. Knight have hard copies. Would love to hear their opinion. Good luck, I'm sure it will get taken care of ASAP.

I take it the game is not available yet?

Just woke up (UK here) and logged into my US PSN and saw that the game still said purchased and had no option to download. I was about to cry thinking that Sony wouldnt let me download it... but now I read this, I take it that this is a global issue right now

In the grand scheme, this isn't that serious of a deal, like I said, there are much bigger things out there to be outraged by.
I'm less upset over this hobby as I am with Sony and their business practices. I have nothing against you or anyone else, I just don't want to be told what I am capable of doing with my money. I know what I can do, and in fact I just did something. I got my $60 refund and will be picking this up within the hour. Digital is not that worth it.

People on their high horse in here complaining about people complaining need a little perspective.

#1. you do not live the other persons life.
#2. your experiences/biases/thoughts/etc are not analogous or relevant.
#3. Trumpeting your own lack of frustration over somebody else does not make you superior. It makes you a jerk.
#4. You are not going to change somebody's mind/relieve their stress/whatever you may think you're going to do by typing a message explaining why what they're doing is wrong. That's not how people react to criticism. It's counter-productive and silly.
#5. Above all, nobody has to conform to your vision. Sure, some people may be acting ridiculous. Most are just upset that a game they've been waiting for is experiencing difficulties in becoming available. It is not as important as the things happening overseas but that is also irrelevant. If you'd like, I could take your car and house and phone and then tell you "hey, it could be worse." That serves nothing and nobody except your own ego.

I know people just want to play the game, but Sony needs to eat some of the excess profit from digital distribution and give everyone who preordered a 10-20 credit. I mean it has been 4 hours plus now, that is ridiculous,

They did do something similar but I think that was after the security breach that took psn offline for like 4 weeks.

I'd like to believe there actually is irony in that post, because otherwise it leads me to believe you have an extremely limited mental capacity.
