NBA 2K14 Patch #5 Coming in 10 to 14 Days - Updates to MyTEAM, Shoes & Much More

Ronnie and LD2K mentioned last week, during their NBA 2K14 livestream, patch #5 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 was close to being submitted to Microsoft and Sony.

Today they revealed the patch has been submitted and we should see it arrive in 10 to 14 days, possibly even sooner.

The patch will address some MyTEAM issues, update shoes and much more (that's all I could get out of them). Patch notes will be released when the patch goes live.

I thought one of the benefits of the new consoles was that developers could get the patches out more quickly...

I feel like the patch is just gonna be the shoe update. The patch will just add shoes but won't actually fix anything. I hope I'm wrong about that.

Nothing for Nothing, the game came out 6months ago and they're still releasing patches. I haven't heard from LIVE or Madden in months! You have to give 2K some credit.

On last week's Twitch stream, Ronnie and Chris said "my team stuff" and "other things" will also be addressed, in addition to "shoes."

That's all the info 2K has released, at the moment.

I think it's crappy as hell that they can't show patch notes until the patch is out. Probably because they don't everyone complaining about how the patch doesn't fix anything. Gonna make us wait to complain.

Fix rebounding and ball security. Also fix psychic pass defenders. Then the game will be perfect.

More news about the patch from today's Twitch stream:

-- Fixes the duplicate players glitch in My Team
-- The Park changes in accord with user feedback + new stuff added to it

Also mentioned today:

-- More emerald players will be coming to My Team
-- Diamond Kobe locker codes will be released Monday night
-- Diamond Durant locker code will be released on Twitter tomorrow
-- Next week, an NBA player is giving away a special locker code. It is someone who is active on social media.
-- "Organized games" are a big opportunity for the future of The Park in NBA 2K15 (hinting at a return of Crew mode)

It's not going to fix anything of significance. They'll put in 5 shoes (you cant edit), fix basically ONLY MyTeam (which they've literally exclusively talked about for the better part of 3 months and NOTHING else) issues which... I wouldnt know about because I dont play it. They'll probably throw us a bone on MyCareer--you can now see the plays being called, and CPU recovery on loose balls will go from 99% to 93 lol.

The fact that they actually spent time putting together a patch but (as of right now) didn't bother fixing free agency in their core mode should tell you something about how they prioritize things.

If they actually fixed issues in their core modes I'd be more supportive but they're delegating resources to shoes a mere months away from their next release.

I can't help but feel that 15 is going to be as disastrous as 14.

They could have packed it in like the other basketball game has done. they've already sold their 4-5 million copies, but they're still attempting to tweak the game via patches, you may not think so, but it deserves a golf clap.

its damage control. if they dont support the game then a lot of their hardcore fan base wont buy next years game. normally its not necessary but this years game is more bug-ridden than all of last-gen combined.

Good point, however, unless LIVE makes some ridiculous strides, the "hardcore's" only real option is 2K.
