MLB 14 The Show Video and Screenshot Captures - Baseball Is Better on PS4

The official trailer for the Playstation 4 version of MLB 14 The Show is now live on the internet for your viewing pleasure. The video shows off several aspects of next-gen, much of it looking incredibly good.

From the official PR out of Sony: "We know there’s a great deal of anticipation to witness the next generation of baseball video games, and we’re proud to unveil the first trailer for MLB 14 The Show on PS4. We've also included a bunch of screenshot captures from the video here.

On display are the completely rebuilt stadiums, the redone lighting engine (check out the self-shadowing at night), vastly more detailed crowds, grass and player hair rendered down to the last blade/strand, and much more. Plus, since all three versions of MLB 14 The Show (PS3, PS4, and PS Vita) support cross save functionality, anyone who already picked up this year’s game will be able to easily carry their progress over to PS4 when it launches."

I have a [email protected], AMD 7970@1200mhz Core/1650mhz Memory which is 4.5 Teraflops of GPU power along with 32GB of system ram,etc. So dont come around here acting like PC's are the only platform that can produce cutting edge visuals because i have a custom built PC and i would be a fool to say that the PS4 has not rivaled what my PC can do..outside of super high resolutions of course but 1080p is perfect fine even for me with a high end PC. Have you played Ryse on X1 or Killzone on PS4 or Infamous on PS4? Those games alone have matched or rivaled anything I've played on my High End PC, which i built myself! Heck..even Battlefield 4 on PS4 held its own vs my Battlefield 4 on my PC maxed out..yeah my PC had the edge but boy that PS4 is one heck of powerful machine for $400 dollars. MY graphics card alone costed 500 dollars at the time i bought it lol...we are talking about a $400 dollar machine here dude..so stop the fanboyism...just shows immaturity.

These are games that are still considered launch games or within the "launch window" of the launch of these new consoles and we are seeing games that look this good this early.

Let me ask you something sir, since you seem to know so much....you show me ONE pc sports game that look better than MLB The Show on PS4 or NBA2k14 on both PS4/X1 and i'll eat crow.

Guess what? We both know there is not a sport game that rivals this upcoming PS4 sports game or NBA2k14.

Hey...i know good graphics when i see them and i love graphics...im a pure 100% graphics whore as they call us...why on earth would i have built myself a PC late last summer with those kinds of specs? I know what high end PC's can produce...because i have a fairly high end PC but make no mistake about it...there are PLENTY of games that are coming out on PS4 that will never EVER be on the PC and is the reason why i own both a nice gaming PC and PS4.

You know what i think pal? I think your just jealous that a 400 dollar console can produce visuals this good and yet you go on yapping about no AA..clearly there is AA being used and you make it sound likes its one huge jaggy fest.

People like you give gamers a bad rep. Fanboys are no gamers at all...just got some kind of delusional mindset in favoring one brand over another...there is zero passion for gaming with fanboys of any system.

EDIT: Looks like Mods already took care of dude and helped him out the door lol

If anyone is skeptical at the power that PS4 has...give it 1 year and im sure everyone will finally believe what that machine is capable of. It already rivals what my PC can do which really impresses me.

He is actually fixed in the PS3 and Vita and looks perfect In this yrs game, just don't understand why Sony would include that shot of Simmons for this trailer. I'm guessing that is a really old clip of him. Trust me I got the game for PS3 and that was one of the first things I check when I got game April 1st.

PS marketing doesn't make any of our trailer's. Our in house cinematics team does. They make a lot of the trailers you see for different PS games.

As an 'older' gamer, who also gave up PC gaming about 8 years ago, I think this game looks great. I've also been without my PS3 that died in September, so I'm longing for baseball something fierce...I wish I was able to take time off to play, but it may just end up being some late nights for this cowboy.

This game looks absolutely incredible..
I do have a question, are there going to be more batting stances in the PS4 version? For example, in the PS3 Version I got MLB14, and Starlin Castro had the stance from last year`s game. Will there be more stances?

(Ignore my user name, I know "Nostalgia" isn`t spelled "Nostaglia".. Freaking typo and I don`t know how to fix it

From what I've heard, there are at least a few extra batting stances thanks to the PS4's inclusion of Japan League-style hitting.

Anybody have any definite answers on this batting stance thing? I love when they implement new stances/windups etc.
They have Travis Wood, and even PEDRO STROP AND EDWIN JACKSON custom windups. Love it.
My question more pertains to Batting Stances however. Like guys like Welington Castillo don`t have their own stance. I saw Starlin Castro and Mike Trout both still have the MLB13 stance on MLB:14 (PS3 Version)

Just hope there are indeed a ton of new stances (more than they already added in the PS3 version, which is great)
