Interested to read impressions and see more gameplay video. I've got the demo in my 360 queue. Hoping to get a chance to play it after work.

Excellent gameplay. Really feels like the 8/16 bit games of my childhood. Here's my one complaint

NO STATS.

This would be my goto baseball game if it had stats. I love the show but find that every time I play it I wish I still had my all time favorite: Ken Griffey Jr presents MLB. It kept stats during the season on your players. That's all I ask.

I do feel like I will play with my 6 year old but other than playing with kids I would avoid. Unless stat tracking can be patched in. Then it would be the only game I played.

Really fun game of baseball. Reminds me of the old RBI game which is what I wanted. Controls are easy and the games are pretty fast but do allow you to use strategy in them. I've pulled off a few hit and runs to perfection.

First game I was the Red Sox and beat the Yankees 6-4.

Highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of retro games.

Lack of season stats doesn't bother me as the original didn't have it anyway. If you are expecting the original RBI you will enjoy this. If you are expecting The Show, probably not your type of game.

I think we must agree to disagree about stats. Stats is baseball. Period. I'm not expecting Sabremetrics here. Just give me W/L/Era/K for pitchers and BA/HR/RBI/SB for hitters. That's it. I realize that the original did not have it but if you are playing a season the numbers matter. I don't care about league leaders. Just my team. Then the game would be a 10/10 all day. Love the gameplay. It's PERFECT. I just feel like I woke up on Christmas morning to an empty tree.

I can understand that. I will say that the fielding graphics remind me of Griffey.

Everything reminds me of that masterpiece of a game. I was sounding like a 10 year old all over again talking to my wife about this game last night. She just didn't understand.....

Here are the settings and controls.

(You can change fielding controls to Assisted, Ball Height Indicator to Off)

You can't manually dive, it seems to be automatic, if it needs to happen. Playing the outfield will take some time to get used to.

Can't hit the cutoff man, it seems. (I realize this is RBI, but still...)

There is a 10 run rule

This reminds me of the game of my youth, which was hours and hours of fun.

Just couldn't recall the advance base runner control buttons, but thanks to Steve, I know it now.

It's all I could ask for since I last played this game.

Played vs the Cards and there was a arch in the outfield.

I said this in another thread yesterday, stats weren't in the game then, didn't expect them now. Yes, they are important to baseball, but when you only have 1 reliever, 4 starters and 16 players, stats aren't that important to me with a game from the early 90's.

To each their own on stats. If they add them later down the line, great.

Can you guys find out what the difference will be on the PS4 version compared to PS3? Thanks Blitz

Did the spitball make the return? I think you held C while pitching back on the genesis. Try holding b while pressing pitch.

Maybe next years version. The gameplay is beyond exceptional. Quick question.

I noticed one of the achievements is throw a runner out at home with a Fast Throw from outfield. What is a Fast Throw?

I mean the thing is... this thing is called RBI Baseball. How can it not have RBI's?

I know the original didn't either, and I'd probably ask the same question then as well. If it was harder to make happen back then, that's one thing. But now? That's like rebooting the NBA Inside Drive series and removing layups and dunks from it.

I understand that nothing here was "removed" per se, but it certainly is weird.

just played the demo and it isnt something id pay more than $5 for. the fielding is finicky and i cant hit to save my life. pitching is pretty easy though. just spam the throw button and move the control stick around.

I'm not sure what that means, honestly.

Matt, the CPU pitchers threw a couple spitters at me.

I would say if you didn't play the original RBI, you probably won't like it because you are used to 2k and The Show. If you did play the original RBI, you will probably like the game.

Exactly! It already tracks these things throughout the game below the box score. Why not compile them throughout the season. Who cares if they are goofy. I want Freddie a Freeman to bat 480. That was a large part of the charm those days. The individual games felt fairly realistic but stats were not necessarily.

Hows the IOS version? Can I play on both Iphone and Ipad?

Is there roster customization? I only have ps4 and am craving baseball badly right now may spend the $5 to get a quick mobile fix.

iOS version looks pretty much the same as the console version, controls are obviously a little different. I bought it for the iPad, but saw it on my iPhone as well. Don't have to pay twice, if that's what you're asking.

There is no customization of rosters, period.

I guess I'm just different.

I know I'm playing a arcade type game, I don't need to know Carlos Gomez hit 107 HR's and drove in 362 runs.

I know I'm being facetious, but I don't need to know or track that, especially in a single season game.

Maybe if the game played out in multiple seasons, I'd see the point more to track stats.

We are at the mercy of the company's decision.

I'm sure part of it was to keep it simple like the original game.
