MLB 14 The Show News Post

I'm a ballpark junkie myself. I tend to get completely engrossed in the small details of a park from the dimensions to its unique and endearing features.

It just so happens I'm one of those people that make the local baseball stadium a must visit item on my list when vacationing. One of my favorite aspects of The Show is being able to see the stadiums in pretty amazing detail. With the PlayStation 4 edition of MLB 14 The Show launching later in the year, there will be even greater detail expected within the game to explore for ballpark junkies.

Which ballpark are you excited about playing in most, and which old ballparks would you like the next-gen game to eventually include?

I'm from Holland but I've been to:

Fenway Park
Rogers Center
AT&T Park
Dodger Stadium
Old Yankees Stadium
Angels Stadium
Petco Park
Miami Marlins (new stadium)
Tokyo Dome

I never felt AT&T park was really alive in The Show so I'm hoping the new PS4 version can do the job!

In real life I've only been to three different stadiums, The Old and New Yankee Stadium, and Shea Stadium. That being said the ballpark I love to play in, in MLB The Show, is Yankee Stadium only because I believe they truly did capture the feel of the ballpark in the Bronx.

Tiger Stadium.........Oh whoops. Three Rivers.....crud...Veteran's Stadium...farg...Riverfront....?...OR any KICK-A cookie cutter wid the lime green original {hard as friggin' concrete} ASTROturf..........ahhhh frick!

How about the generic emulation of the "Eight Men Out" comisky (actually modded Busch in Indianapolis) love that one.....criminy!....Well the generic copy of "THE NATURAL" stadium is totally digable.....shoot! But in all seriousness: the weedy sandlot field with wooden fences played on by the Peanuts gang (similar to the one played on in the sub-mediocre flick "THE SANDLOT") rules the school to play on...........aw gee whiz! crappity!

A'ight: Fenway, Wrigley, Oakland (O).....Crosley, Forbes.

I always liked playing Fenway Park and Wrigley Field. Both historical places. I also enjoyed the options of being able to change stadiums, and I would pick a team like San Diego that has a boring stadium IMO, and switch them to the Polo Grounds. Easily my most favorite stadium.

From all the previous MLB games I've always seemed to hit well at Chase Field, AT&T Park is always fun too.

Same here. PNC is by far my favorite and just gorgeous. I haven't visited many other parks, though. I would love to visit Camden Yards, Fenway, Wrigley. But I like parks with quirks too. I love the state of ballparks now compared to 20 years ago when they were all cement-like turf and bowl shaped stadiums. I can't wait to see what they look like in the PS4 version.

You should be biased , as I posted earlier in the thread with the exception of Target and Petco I've seen them all , and myself with a lot of other fans that I've traveled with on the STAT tours over past several years are pretty much in agreement that PNC is top 3 in most all of our conversations. Walk up that concourse for the first time and have that skyline explode upon you is simply gorgeous.

Love OPACY its what most parks are based off today that are new. I remember being a kid and my grandfather use to take me. I remember the night when Cal broke the streak and when he retired. I'd love to go back again.

Looks like I am the only one who loves to play in Miami. I actually enjoy that stadium.

How's he being a snob? You responded to him in what was quite honestly a dumb way and then you turn around and accuse him of being a snob??

I know this is a homer post but I still enjoy playing @ Turner Field.
I hope when the Braves get their new stadium in a few years,
SCEA is able to leave the Ted in as classic stadium, if at all possible.

I do enjoy playing at Camden Yards, and I love going to games there. I've only been to Camden Yards, Citizen's Bank Park, and the Nats ballpark and Camden Yards beats the other two by a mile.

I also enjoy playing at Turner Field and the Diamondbacks ballpark

My favorite for scenic:

AL - Target Field
NL - PNC...AT&T would be 2nd.

Though in season, it's a dilemma for sorts as I'm often trying to get my top of the order guys a lot of 3Bs and 2Bs - so I'll pick Forbes Field at times as the dimensions allow for a LOT of extra base hits.

Polo Grounds is tempting...but too many HRs...and unless you hit it to deep LC/RC...it's actually kinda hard to get extra base hits.

And I don't know if it's just me, but it seems hard to get a lot of 2B at Fenway, when I thought it would be rather easy (like in real life). Unless it's my leadoff guy or 90+ speed (even so, he's diving into 2nd trying to get that double when hit off the Monster) I'll get thrown out by a mile (when playing with guys like Wade Boggs or Joe Mauer - typical doubles hitters).
