They gotta get rid of that always online crap. I'm sure this stuff will be cleared up when they meet with the community again this spring.

I hope so. But a part of me fears 2K will instead go the route of, "Our modes still require an online connection, but we made massive upgrades to our servers so everything should be okay." But I agree, the always-online for non-online modes absolutely must go. It is an absolutely awful idea.

I think that's why Microsoft ditched the "always online" for the XB1.

I kind of get the feeling that Take Two and 2K were anticipating it being there for the XB1, and 2K designed a game around that model, and were kinda blindsided by MS' decision.

Then again, at the very same time...the VC being literally everywhere makes a strong argument for "give us as much money as you can, k thanks."

If enough companies hop on board this refund thing, then they'll look at Take Two & 2K sideways when it comes time to order more copies of the game in bulk.

That'll make Take Two say "hol' up hol' up hol' up...what happened now...?" and MAYBE the gamers will be rewarded.

Totally agree with you but haven't they been claiming to have "upgrades" to their servers for few years now? It's almost like they were so confident about being the only basketball game for so long they said people won't stop buying our product...put it out.

They're going to realize that you can't keep screwing over the consumers with faulty servers, then nickel and dime them to death with VC while they are trying to connect to those servers.

Have been a fan of 2K since Dreamcast but if there was ever a time where it seemed a company got to full of themselves this would be it. Wonder if Gamestop is giving refunds...may have to call and see.

Walmart took the game back as well. I had the receipt from 11/14 when I bought it, and they had no problems giving a refund. The guy working the counter said that they had received several returns here recently of "broken" NBA 2k14 copies. (Lexington, KY)

Broken NBA 2K14 copies. Lol that's embarassing for 2K.

Unfortunately I can't trade mine in....just need a BBALL game in my life and Live isn't quite giving me a fix...guess I just have NBA 2k: Quick Game Edition for the time being...smh

VC as currency and microtransactions have been the two worse things to happen to this series...

completely separate ideas. the xbox one wasnt "always online." it was a once a day check in. 2k14 being reliant on the 2k servers is more than likely related to pushing VC and microtransactions on everyone.

Never thought this day would come I consider refunding/trading a NBA 2k game

# 33 jayman504 @ 01/06/14 08:53 PM
Why won't 2k say something or speak up on this matter? You know some people wouldn't even "go in" the way they do if SOMEBODY from 2k actually says we made a mistake...

I stand corrected then.

That's even worse.

See how sh*tty your product is, 2K?
This guy got it for free and he wants a refund.

On a serious note, try asking Target if they'll let you trade it in for another game which would replace it as the free game on your B2G1 deal.

Yeah. His terminology definitely gave me a chuckle.

Yeah I traded mine back in a while back. The only thing I liked about the game was the graphics, even though a few players look horrible, as a whole it looked good. Sadly, that's the only good thing I could say about it. Your teammates are still dumb as a bag of bricks and sometimes the controls don't feel responsive. MyCareer was horrible in my opinion. I don't want my career to be identical to everyone else's. They should make your player have the ability to fail, that way you get into it and you feel some of the pressure. The voice was ridiculous... I just hate that they made it a scripted story mode, I have RPGs, adventure games, open world games, whatever you want to call them for all of that stuff. Luckily for them Live flopped this year, but for me, it's wide open for next year... though I doubt either will be a day 1 purchase ever again.

Can't wait to see next year sales results and see that none of my hard earned money went towards 2K.

I enjoy my NG a lot better than cg gameplay wise but feature wise I feel like we all got ****ed over. Never take features out of a game and never miss a chance to address on-going issues we've been adamant about since 2k11.
