Mine took a long time. It felt like 20 to 30 minutes. During that time, all I can do was play now games. I could only use the Heat or the Spurs. I guess you have to be patient. If you're using WiFi, try not using any other devices while it download. I really don't know what to tell you.

Not if you have a Solid State Drive. I have a 256 GB SSD and it only took me 10 minutes to install the update and the game. They cost more, but it is wayyyyyyy faster.

I don't know who it was, but someone was asking for a picture of Antetokounmpo.

I've been playing this for the past couple of hours and I'm loving it. I might drop some more detailed thoughts later, but I'm about to fire up another game. I feel like I need to go to 2K remedial class or something. The first game out I was turning the ball over like crazy. Some of that was being used to the 360 buttons, some of that was not playing in a couple of weeks, and the rest of it was just getting adjusted to the new game.

The A.I. seemed much improved my first time out. I was only playing on pro and the computer gave me a good game. Their defense seemed much better than in the current gen version and they kicked the ball out to the open man a decent amount when their penetration was impeded. I still saw a good amount of aggression to the rim as well, but there seemed to be balance. Hopefully this continues. I'm really enjoying this so far.

Similar, but much improved. Much improved. The shoes are still too big and look like boots in my opinion, but definitely better than current gen.

When it first came on, the intro made me say "WTF????"

When I saw the in game graphics I said it again....When I started playing the game I said it again.

Now we are cooking with grease. I'm going to be completely honest. I was so underwhelmed with Madden that I said if 2k does not wow me i'm going to sell my PS4 and just play my 360 because i only really play sports games and Madden and 2k14 on the 360 was enough to take the edge off. If you walked in the room while I was playing Madden you would have thought I was playing the PS3...if you walked in the room while I was playing 2k you would ask WTH am I playing. This game is legit so far. I'm sure the bugs are coming but they definitely have a rock solid foundation for the future. Floor spacing is on point...the foot planting is dope...if you get someone out on the perimeter that shouldn't be guarding you they are toast...one little thing that grabbed my attention was a loose ball that Norris Cole was able to chase down and dunk with ease...it wasn't like last gen when you chasing down a loose ball was like trying to walk down Devin Hester. I'm not a video game junkie like I used to be because of my schedule but I will definitely be finding time to play this game. You 2k heads out there will be 2k crackheads. Don't even watch the streams...you definitely have to play it and see it on your own TV. Legit, legit, legit.

This is going to a strange statement, and I doubt everyone will understand what I mean:

This game is everything that the public thought the first NBA Live for PS3 and Xbox 360 was going to be. I believe it was NBA Live 06.

I understand... some time ago someone posted that 2k6 xbox 360 CGI video and said we're finally at that point. I think you're pretty spot on.

I had only limited time with it because somehow my PS4 got stuck installing and I needed to reboot it before it would progress. All I got to play was the Quick Game between the Heat and Spurs. I had to quit out-- I got really antsy and annoyed having my first impression of this beautiful game be a quick game with no commentary that felt more like a scrimmage backed by a soundtrack I've already heard 100 times.

I would personally recommend letting the install finish and getting the full in your face experience.

Anyway, my quick impressions:

Cinematics-- I was blown away by the pre-game intros. These sequences in the game actually look as good and move as smoothly as all the glitzy trailers we've ALL been watching. I watched and studied them for months and I still said, "are you serious?" when I had to force myself to believe it was being rendered in real-time.

Gameplay-- again, very limited time with the sticks. But the game DOES NOT feel like current-gen. Sure, it's extremely similar to current-gen and has 2K's DNA all over it, but it does NOT feel quite like 2K14 CG with a graphical port. Somehow they managed to make the game feel more planted AND smoother and more responsive at the same time. No, it's not perfect, but it feels a lot more loose and a lot less suction-y (which I don't have a big problem with) from what I could tell.

New animations are everywhere. The game clearly looks like a video game, but it's littered with little, new, lifelike animations that keep making you go "whoa", especially when you're used to looking at and playing past games. I love the contest animations. I love that they seem more contextual and responsive again (after the sluggish contests/hands-up of CG 2K14). I can't wait to play a full, proper game with my Warriors.

In-Game Visuals-- NONE of the streams do this game justice. They show of the game engine's flaws, but NONE of its smoothness. It really runs at a buttery 60fps when everything we've seen of gameplay so far shows it chugging at 25 or so due to the capture and video bandwidth. The game runs incredibly smooth.

Editing-- Editing options look solid and then some. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that we can edit not only WINGSPANS, but also SHOULDER WIDTH and BODY LENGTH! THAT I did not expect at all. After a few tweaks-- wider shoulders, shorter arms, longer body-- David Lee looked even more like himself. Gave Curry slighter shoulders and he looked a bit better too (though not sure if more accurate). With the ability to tweak body proportions, the players of our team will resemble themselves even more on court on top of their uncannily accurate face scans.

NBA Today-- the map idea is neat but I almost prefer CG's implementation that lets you get to games quickly. Actually what I'd REALLY like would be an NBA Today that looks more like the League Pass apps or the NBA.com website where you see schedules and scores of games. Selecting one should allow you to play or watch highlights from the game if they exist. I was also hoping NBA Today allowed full access to the day's various highlights and didn't just automatically play Daily Zap in a cropped box. Ah well. Still cool to get a quick look at action around the league whenever I play 2K.

Also love the emotion badges, though I didn't quite agree with some of the for the Warriors, nor really got to try them out.

That's it for now. Can't wait to play the game proper.

I know exactly what you are saying....it's a game that is supposed to make you say, "ok, this is next gen"...which is exactly what I said when I played 2k14 for the first time today.

The gameplay is there in spades. If this GM Mode is as deep as advertised, it's gonna be hard to pull me off this game.

I don't have the game (or PS4) yet, but what i find interesting about this thread in a GOOD way is that we are 13 pages deep and all the posts are overwhelmingly positive...for OS, this lets me know that this game is the real deal.

thx for the impressions.

Loving the actual game so far but navigating these menus makes me want to off myself.

I have no idea why they assigned the menu design task to Helen Keller.

Can't. Stop. Playing. This is why I bought a PS4.
