NBA 2K14 News Post

Damon Bruce is in hot water over a segment which called out women in sports. Bruce's comments have caused quite a bit of controversy locally, with advertisers and listeners complaining about his diatribe. There is much speculation that his show is in trouble in the San Francisco market. As you may know, Bruce has been the voice of NBA 2K's halftime show for some time -- so its very possible this could end up costing him his gig with 2K Sports as well.

We'll be keeping an eye out for any news on this front! Do you think his rant is worthy of him losing his show and other things like his 2K halftime voice gig?

Um Women have soccer they're good at it , baseball/softball , tennis , volleyball , basketball and im not sure what else

THE NFL is a men's league
NBA is a men's league
NHL is a men's league

You can't say different until something changes in the future for those 3 leagues
MLB is still a men's league but i will not disagree women could play baseball if they could go through Low/high A , AA , AAA and be good in the majors

No because men are not allowed to play in that league. How are you not understanding this?

Rambo don't talk about the NFL bullying case if you haven't actually read about it and not just heard a few headlines. It was clear racism and needed to be punished.

If women want to enter [insert "men league" here] then let them be. They, along with everyone else know the dangers, if they want to play, let them play , if they get into some trouble, they should acknowledge that they knew stuff like that would happen.

I always say this about everything, anything isn't impossible until you try. And with the case of women, it's not impossible for them to get into these leagues until they try and see what happens.

Sure. Why not? I mean, we have to expect that NFL players aren't stupid around woman, if something happens, the only person who is fully responsible are the people in action. There's been worse things in the world that players have done, I'm sure a woman wouldn't distract people a lot unless they try to be distracting.

This is pure bull s**t. I have a feeling that you have no clue on what you are talking about here.

First let me deal with this:

Seriously, do you want to go here? Most guys, even if they played high school sports really don't know anything about being in a professional sports culture. On the other hand, being the wife, daughter or girlfriend of an elite level athlete can give you insights that most will never understand. If you are male or female, being a part of a sports culture is not based upon your gender - it is based on so much more, including life experiences, intelligence and even education.

Secondly, let me address this:

You obviously have never been inside a women's "locker-room" environment. The differences have nothing to do with over-sensitivity... being sensitive has nothing to do with gender.

Men and women have a common culture because we are all part of the same society. Men and women are not a separate caste in the United States and Canada like some Indian cultural system .

The issue with Damon Bruce is that he is advocating that access be separated by gender - and that is just plain unacceptable and wrong in today's world.

Now lets go back to gaming and the NBA.

Hey man, that's why they joined, they know what could happen and they are willing to join even though they could get hurt like the next guy. The media would over do it of course, but like a lot of other stories , they will die off .

There's practice squad to the at least learn the feel.

If a woman is brave enough and is willing to take the hard work and training, they're fine. It doesn't matter what sport it is. Women are people but with different body parts as men. They can the same/more work ethic as a man. They can even just be practice squad to know the feeling against pros in training. Every sport is trying to be more safe with technology advancing quickly now anyways, so it's inevitable that some women joins a national sports league maybe not be a star, but a regular player.

Baseball
Football

That's how I'm guessing it will go. A women already played a couple NHL preseason games 20 years ago as a goalie too.

Wanted to cross baseball out, just remembered Jackie Mitchell. Though, it will still be one of the hardest sports.

I don't see it happening in the NBA for a long time maybe in 10+yrs they should keep it how it is tbh i do not want to see some soft nba and more floopers

Soccer is nearly there its mixed everywhere in schools and other places now

Baseball ..this especially do not see happening considering baseball want's to stay old school and not get with the " new school " stuff

20 yrs ago? yeah......

Just a fyi: There were/are women pitchers in the minors (Golden Colorado's team had a female reliever that was in the news a few years ago as "almost being major-league ready") ... positional players might be harder to break through but pitching is another story. Especially in today's MLB where pitchers have low pitch count limits and are specialists.

So MLB might be sooner then you think. Even the traditionalists take a back seat to money and revenue increases.

With baseball needing more attention i will not disagree that could help it

It's probably because some woman just didn't find time or was devoted to this. And the fear of people's generalization of them. I mean look at this thread, you have people already saying woman aren't meant to play in these leagues.

I'm sure one, at least one woman who is basically going all or nothing will crack one of the sports. It's the mindset and motivation that drives a person to do stuff.
