NBA Live 14 News Post

While the mode has been known for a while, EA Sports has finally revealed more details on Ultimate Team for NBA Live 14.

Check out their latest blog, which details the Ultimate Team modes, including Fantasy Showdowns featuring real NBA teams and a mix of fantasy matchups, which will be added throughout the season.

Just like the popular Ultimate Team modes in many other EA Sports games, you need to build your team by earning coins with wins and/or individual accolades. With those coins, you simply purchase packs, jerseys, arenas, logos and many more items to build your team. Player(s) of the Week items with increased ratings based on real-world performance will be added throughout the season as well.

Guys that don't rebound don't average 14+ rebounds in college and then go to the league and average 10+.

Not disagreeing with your statement but it kinda seems like you only focus on his highlight plays in terms of offense.

Seriously Blake Griffin an 84 and Wall 85? I know it's only a video game, but those numbers pretty much says John Wall is more valuable than Blake.

If CP3 is an 88 and Wall (who is not even a top10 pg in the game) is an 85, then what about the other pg's that are better than Wall? You're telling me we have a lot of PG's in the 85-88 ratings? Terrible.
both of them was are subpar at there poistions......both of us don't really have a case for either of them agreed..

In one of the pictures it says 2001 draft class......hmm..... With a draft class in the 2000 era we could maybe see players like VC, Reggie, TMAC? Lets hope so.

Yes I understand that, I'm just speculating on possible players that could be in the game with a draft class in the 2000's. If they had teams with players from 2000 and up then players like VC, TMAC, and Reggie would most likely be in the game.

One of the dumbest statements I've read on any basketball message boards. Blake Griffin's rebounding per game over his career is 10.5 RPG. How the hell is that sub par rebounding? He had less rebounds last year because he played significantly less minutes.

I never said he deserved to be rated higher. I actually think his ratings is perfect for him. Considering all the other stars like CP3 and Melo seems to be at 87-89. What I did have a problem with was John Wall rated higher than Blake and closer to CP3. Dude sucks at everything besides his ability to push the tempo and finish in the fast break.

Blake Griffin subpar at his position? WTF? 18/8 is subpar in today's game now?

The news sound like they atleast making a quality ultimate team mode, but hopefully they don't pull off what they did what the other ultimate teams and just make it a 2 or 3 minute game.

why is everyone making a big deal out of the overall ratings? they dont mean anything. the individual ratings and tendencies will determine how good the player is usually. we dont know how live's rating system will work this year.

not to make it a game fight, but even 2ks overall ratings can change drastically just by adjusting off/def awareness. why dont we just wait and see what the other, specific ratings look like before we decide that a player does/doesnt deserve it?

You clearly don't know basketball if you think Blake is subpar.

Player tendencies being accurate is much more IMPACTFUL IMO than the overall rating assigned to a player.

I've never understood the concept of crying about overall ratings especially when you can just jack up the ratings yourself if you don't agree with them.

Blake has yet to develop any post up game or any semblance of a jumper and the thing that bothers me most about Blake is that you never read anything about him coming back the next year and working on his game over the summer to expand his skills.

At the end of the day both players are flawed on offense and I don't view either guy as being capable of leading a team to a title being the #1 guy.

For the record I'm a bigger fan of lower ratings because I believe very few players should be considered ELITE.

Elite to me should be reserved for guys like Jordan, Bird, Magic, Russell or Wilt.

If EA rated the entire NBA under 90 overall with the exception of a few players like LeBron for example I wouldn't even care because I find in this day and age of the NBA there are more flawed players than ever before.

So apparently Reggie Miller agrees Blake needs to work on his low post game and develop something other than a highlight dunk package and for a guy who is considered a good rebounder he got killed by Jordan Hill on the offensive glass tonight (4th qtr)

EA might want to reconsider that 84 rating (joking)

Only because we know little to none about how the game will actually play I'd say.

No post game = subpar

and if you knew how to read, I said I didn't have any problem with Blake's ratings. I did however had a problem with John Wall being rated that high when he just shot 4-15 and 0-4 from 3. The guy is garbage and there is no way he should be rated close to Dwyane Wade or let alone CP3.
