NBA 2K14 Next-Gen TV Spot

The NBA 2K14 next-gen TV spot is live, with a new look at the next-generation of NBA 2K. The video shows off LeBron James in some insanely atmospheric lighting and then cuts to several gameplay sequences. A pretty exciting, although limited, look at the next generation of 2K basketball.

Call me stupid, but I had the impression we'd get info to coincide with the vid. Any word on that? The vid has more than satiated me, I mean, 5 seconds of gameplay plus the LeBron stuff and its like I ate a Caniac Combo. Still...need a drink refill.

I made an executive decision to not buy current gen one day. I haven't done this since the first NBA 2k came out in 99. This marks the first time in 14 years that I have bought this on day 1. I know my day will come on Nov 15th when the glory that is 2k rests in my palms.

With that being said, I feel like I'm being waterboarded right now. This is absolute torture that I haven't played 2k yet and its been out for a couple of days already. I dont think I would even play it if someone brought it over to my house after seeing next gen.

I also planned on holding out for the PS4 version but decided to take the $20 plunge and get it on PC. It was well worth it. It looks exactly the same as 2K13 but the improvements in gameplay make it so much more fun.

Yeah I thought I read there would be a push for next gen marketing and info late September.

Yea I hope we get some info and more videos for Next get 2k soon. Come on Chris and Ronnie, we have waited so LONG!!

I'm shocked that 2K didn't show the YouTube team they flew out yo show the Current gen game to a few months ago, the next gen version. I would have thought someone who went would have spelled some beans about it by now. 2k has kept everything under wraps for a LONG time! Lol

None of them saw anything next-gen. Don't worry... not too far off now.

So it's more than just flashy graphics to impress kids? Won't buy a next gen console this year, but if they overhauled association, rosters, playbooks and the tendency system (current gen is close to unplayable against the CPU this year), I might go for it next year.

Gotta say, you have kept a tight, tight lid on all things next gen. Haven't even seen a Game Informer blurb on it, and they're the first people I see info from.

I saw enough in that five seconds + the LeBron switch outs and the ball that I think wasn't live action for a moment, to know that my socks will be rocked once you start dropping info.

I'm very excited for this. Extremely even. But 2k, with this being next-gen and all, can we please choose what jersey we want to wear in MyPlayer? Pretty please? Am I asking too much man?

Hopefully on next gen they will allow us to do the things that we couldn't do in current gen. Like for instance customize courts, jerseys or have a collection of throwback jerseys, an improved CAP and CAT, etc

Yeah same here, from many of the impressions it seems the gameplay has been improved...with these graphics and the improved gameplay I think i'll definitely be happy with NG NBA2k. If they can improve the atmosphere and the crowd sounds it would be glorious.

Yes, that's exactly the jersey I had in mind. I'm also interested in the new lakers alt. black unis. I just hope they let us choose man. It can't imagine it being THAT difficult.

First, AWESOME use of KRS' "Step into a world"... That got me pumped off the bat. Too much of LeBron though. I know he's on the cover... But ugh. The gameplay looks slick. We will see in about 6 weeks.

I keep seeing ppl say they're waiting for the NG to come out. You can upgrade the game for 10 bucks when the new systems drop. It isn't for all games, bt it is def for 2k. So why wait?

I was going to wait, even though I had this pre-ordered. After I heard about the significant control changes, like the right stick, I decided to snag it for the 360, so I could become acclimated. I'm sure that the NG version of 2k14 will be insane... But I want to be able to play it and know what I'm doing. At least that was my reason for buying this version... (That, and I love 2k hoops)

The wait will heighten my enjoyment. Being impatient for created works was something I suffered through when I was younger, but I've mellowed out with age.

Still, like I felt when I first played Resistance: Fall of Man and NBA 2K7 way, way back when. Felt like the greatest things ever. There wasn't a current gent Resistance, but whatever.

Because while 2k14 out of the box may be substantially better than 2k13 out of the box, it will take months for a roster team to make it better than 2k13 was with quality rosters and sliders. And by that time NG will be out.
