I'm pretty sure that the ratings released were just their guess on who would make the (extended) roster considering there are surely a limited number of roster positions. Some of the ratings are also inconsistent with overalls that were revealed on this nfl dot com article:

Edit: Since I just signed up I can't post the link but if you google "madden 25 ratings" it's one of the top results.

The excel sheet must have been the initial "working" roster which will surely already have an update available when the game is released, one such example is every receiver in the Patriots' training camp is in the game besides one of the ones who is going to make the roster - Kenbrell Thompkins.

As a Viking fan, John Sullivan is way overrated. 89 would be just fine. A 95 is crazy.

If I'm not mistaken,Evan Mathis was mediocre guard who was one of the top linemen in 2011 but had a pretty decent year last year but not nearly as good.I wouldn't think he would be the top offensive linemen in the game.I'd think Joe Thomas,Jahri Evans maybe.

Cowboy rant
lance dunbar only 87 speed? Randle is faster 88? Dunbar is alot faster and is probably our quickest running back. And our most shifty. #cowboys

He will most likely win the 2nd running back job. The boy is explosive.

Yeah I watched Dallas in their last preseason game and Dunbar was explosive. Definitely has very good game speed.

Donny Moore always seems to drop the ball on players speed, one that stands out to me is Mike Gillislee on the Dolphins. I was under the impression he was a speed back but only has an 87 spd. I myself dont know about the kid too well so maybe I'm complaining for no reason.

Gillislee ran a 4.55 40 yard dash http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/...lee?id=2539663

Where is Alex Tanney. I want to turn him into a franchise QB

About right. More quick than fast. Too bad you can't see his acceleration.

I doubt it. It'd mess up the storylines EA plans out with the draft classes.

Unless you mean the NCAA imported drafts, in which case I don't have any idea if you are able to edit them.

Dallas RB's

Joseph Randle Speed 88
DeMarco Murray Speed 94
Phillip Tanner Speed 86
Lance Dunbar Speed 87

Dunbar ran a 4.47 at the combine, Randle ran a 4.6
I think in Madden if you are not a early round pick
they will short you on speed. Once the games start
if that player starts picking up stats, I think Donny
raises them some. Dunbar is almost as fast as
Murray..

Nice. Can't wait to see the defensive ratings if they are to be released at all.

one of the things that annoy me is the inj/tou/sta

for example lattimore is a 65 inj, now he might be at the moment, but if i had the option id IR him till next season, his inj wont be that low. i cant remember what AP's inj dropped to but sometimes these ratings do my head in

Well that explains a lot thx guys. Still not happy with Caleb Sturgis's Kick Power either though. This kid has a cannon for a leg and he only has a 90 Kick Power.

Hopefully next year they can build more of the features from Head Coach into the game.

For those of you who don't know head coach had a production rating and a rating for playbook knowledge. I think this is where you can really expand the difference players as the pure physical features of a player wont be as heavily weighted.

As far as Speed ratings go isn't it more important what the min threshold is on?

It would be really nice is they put the draft classes out on Madden Share to be edited and tinkered with.

Defensive ratings are due out today. Not sure what time though.

as a Dolphins fan this is what stood out most to me.

Also think Tannehill should have a few points higher THP...hes only at 90.

Does anyone honestly believe Flacco is a better QB than Roethlisberger? I know Joe won the super bowl but he's not better than Roethlisberger and Eli because of a playoff run.

I agree, kinda like last year when they rated Eli higher than Peyton. The Superbowl champion qb always gets overrated.Flacco's good but he can thank Rahim Moore's attention deficit disorder for all the love.
