If nothing else Gronk's injury rating should by more like a 47 instead of 77.

Why the heck would they remove acceleration from the game? Is EA saying all players accelerate at the same rate? That was possibly the most important attribute for most positions in the entire game. I dont like that decision at all. Im getting more and more disgusted with this game before its even been released.

The issue there is that you'll get proper separation of ratings for one year. After the incoming draft class, you'll again be at EA's mercy with regards to ratings.

Nice work EA!! Brice Butler has been making big noise for the Raiders since OTA's and has even been getting 1st team reps, but since he was drafted in the 7th round, I guess he deserves his 59 ovr. Nice work there.... I am soooooooo thankful for Madden share this year.

Geno is only 73 but has nice speed at 85, THP at 92 and Short Med and Deep accuracy to build off of.

Also Chris Ivory looks like a mini beast. 96 truck, 97 stiff arm

It's always been like that for the next-gen. Every team is (usually) good. I guess the NFL doesn't want to hurt any of the players feelings and tells EA they have to keep them close.

This is why I never understood why people get upset every year about ratings.

They're never right.

John Sullivan is the highest rated Center in the game with a 95.. I mean.. Come on. I consider him our third best lineman (and not the best Center in the game) and the next highest one on our team is an 89 I believe.

Did they really take out acceleration, like someone posted earlier or did I miss the sarcasm? And if they did in fact remove it, why?

Nothing against Larry or anything, but this is what Madden needs to do more of. Moore is quick to raise a player's rating, but typically it takes a lot for him to lower guys in any meaningful way. This is partly why there is very little separation between players.

Case in point guys like Ray Lewis and Troy Polamalu from the previous few years.

A 85 should not be average. But more than that, the individual ratings need to have much greater separation.

Also, I am currently unable to view the file. Is acceleration truly not showing up? I have to believe it would be a mistake; surely EA would not remove one of the most important attributes in the game...right??
(people need to understand that acceleration is almost always more important than speed)

Gotta disagree with you and side with Donny Moore on this one. Until guys prove it when it counts they should not get the benefit of the doubt. Also check his actual ratings. His skillset may be decent but low awareness may be keeping him down.

Edit: Anyone wanna be a good e-samaritan and look up Flacco's throwing power?

He did play against Houston in the playoffs where he re-broke his arm.

I remember last year during Chiefs camp and OTA's, Jon Baldwin was the talk of the town. Everyday there was a new story about how great Jon Baldwin was doing and was going to be last year. This catch:

had people thinking he was the second coming of Randy Moss. 20 catches and a 2-14 season later and you're probably still asking yourself 'Who the hell is Jon Baldwin?'.

My best guess is that they simply forgot to put in acceleration in the PowerPoint. I say this because during LeSean McCoy's rating reveal on Twitter they said he had 98 acceleration and Adrian Peterson had 99.

Opinions from a Biased Bills Fan:

As expected, Marquise Goodwin has some insane top-end speed and agility. I also see his Kick Return rating skyrocketing in the first roster update based on his preseason performance against the Colts. Only thing I disagree with is his Jump rating...dude was the best performer at the US Olympic Trials and could have won Gold in London had he repeated those numbers!

EJ Manuel rated one OVR point higher than G. Smith, and like Geno has lower awareness but great physical tools. Greater than expected speed rating for him as well, but lower than expected accuracy. Still looking forward to start the season with him! Hopefully Doug Marrone feels the same way... :P

Glad to see CJ Spiller, Stevie Johnson and even Scott Chandler getting some love. Robert Woods (70 OVR) is a bit lower than expected, but even he has some good physical tools. Should be a high-potential receiving corps.

More of why I simply hate the awareness rating boost. Make it just not count into the overall ratings or something.

They just try to lower down the ratings of certain guys by dropping AWR...I hate it

I agree with all of your assessments. Did you notice that Mario Williams somehow found his way on to the spreadsheet?? 92 overall... One thing that stuck out to me was Stevie's 85 speed. If I remember correctly it was an 89 speed before. I know he isn't the fastest receiver around but I don't know what he did in between the end of the season and now to lose 4 points there...

I would agree with you if that was the case with all rookies, but that's not how he does it. With just a tad bit of research, the rosters could be significantly better. For instance, he has our 4th round pick, Tyler Wilson, QB skills rated about even or even slightly better than our starter, Matt Flynn. If he would have read any kind of article or seen any kind of update about the Raiders training camp, he would know that Flynn has been just short of spectacular and that Wilson has been stinking up the joint. In fact, Wilson might not even make the team. He's the 4th string QB right now and there's a big gap between him and the 3rd string QB. By that same premise, he would know that Brice Butler has been tearing it up. He doesn't look tho. He recognizes Tyler Wilson's name from college so he makes him decent without looking at what's happening NOW. On the flipside, he doesn't recognize Brice Butler's name and he was a 7th round pick so he makes him rated very low without looking at what's happening NOW. I didn't expect him to be rated in the 80's or anything, but I did think he would at least be in the mid 60's. He definitely has more of a shot to make the team than those other WR's that are rated in the 60's on our team.

I remember that too. In fact, I was ready to draft him in my fantasy league as a sleeper(Glad I didn't tho lol). This just kinda proves my point tho. Baldwin had a horrible year, yet he's still rated a 73 ovr. I'm assuming because he was a 1st round pick. At this point tho, what round he was picked in should have nothing to do with ratings, but it obviously does because anyone else with just 20 catches is gonna be rated much lower than a 73. Once again, if he kept up with what's happening in training camp, he'd know that Baldwin hasn't made any noise in camp this year and that whispers of bust are starting to come up. He'd know that 73 is probably too high for him right now.

Titans fans or anyone. Did I miss something or where is Kendall Wright on the Titan's roster? He was not on the excel sheet I pulled up. I am sure it is just a mistake though as surely they did not somehow leave him off our roster, just our 1st round pick from last year who had a pretty decent to good rookie campaign.

Looking at wr and hb's..there a lot of them with 95+ agility ratings...I hope that doesn't mean that they all will feel the same with their cuts.

Agility is important when making those cuts. Not surprised that they made most wrs and Hbs with high agility. Most of those players don't make sharp cuts in real life. Watch a guy lesean McCoy. He make people look silly with his agility. Not to many players can do that. But on madden they can.

This list is messed up. Looking at the Eagles, there are only 3 rookies. Where are the rest? Where is Earl Wolff the safety?
