Fair point. I just wish they would offer custom soundtracks.

Maybe they could just throw custom soundtracks in the next-gen versions due to the extra time they have before their release?

I think you are overreacting.

I hope 2K allows users to implement music from their gaming consoles, though. Would allow for greater customization and would make everyone satisfied.

I love the soundtrack choice. 2k again gives us an excellent soundtrack.

Can't wait to listen to "Started at the Bottom" with my Myplayer before his games.

(interruption) "This year's soundtrack is brought to you by Beats by Dre, now back to your regularly scheduled program." Wow, as much as I like the songs this year, I was hoping for something different. It didn't take long for 2k13's ST to feel played out and those were all songs that I previously enjoyed.

It seems like I'm in the minority on this opinion, but I really like the soundtrack. And I don't think that it's a coincidence that "In the Air Tonight" and "All of the Lights" have been the Heat's intro songs for 2 of the 3 years LeBron has been in Miami.

Pretty psyched about Phil Collins. Love that song.

I'm also excited about "Clint Eastwood" by Gorillaz

I guess some people get mad that the company didn't make the soundtrack they wanted or put who they didnt want on the cover so they don't want to support the company so they don't buy the game lol. It's very stupid that some people do that lol

Turn the songs off. Play your own music from computer, phone, iPod, etc...

Problem solved.
I agree.

But you can't blame 2k because as someone said earlier in the thread they have so much more money to spend now, they are going to spend it.
I pretty much echo these sentiments. I think I'll always yearn for the fresh and diverse non-radio smash hits 2K used to provide on a regular basis. Their selections used to cover a very eclectic collection of sounds and I always enjoyed discovering an artist who provided great music but did not have 80 million YouTube views.

That said, I'm pleasantly surprised with the 2K14 soundtrack list. I quickly went through airaaron's YouTube links on page 4 and I mean it as a compliment when I say that it was nice to not have every song feel like it was coming from the same source (Jay-Z/Kanye in 2K13). I think I've already picked out a couple that'll get the boot immediately (I like Daft Punk but have soured on the mega-played "Get Lucky") but there seems to be a solid amount of varied artists and songs that I haven't heard played into the ground.

Again, I'm still a little bummed the soundtrack seems to lack the ability to inform me of creative and original underground acts, but I'm glad it seems to be more diverse and interesting than what was offered last year.

Much better sound track than 2K13, even if a lot of these songs are radio hits. Glad he put Now or Never from Kendrick Lamar and a Big KRIT song on there.

Only ones I disagree with is Started from the Bottom (though I do see the appeal) and Blurred Lines.

Still doesn't hold a candle to 2K11's sound track though.

Opinion: Not crazy about the soundtrack, but you can't say it's bad either, I appreciate the efforts for a video game, just not moved. Since we're here for opinions...No, Passing, Yes

Blurred Lines. Passing

Cool to be Southern. No, awful. Worst track IMO.

Paradise. Yes. No idea who this is, but Yes.

Lost. Passing

Get Lucky. Passing

Started from the bottom. Yes (My Player perfect)

Afraid. Passing

Long Run. Yes. Pound for Pound best hit, cuz never heard of 'em amongst these heavyweights, love the track and sample of course.

Clint Eastwood. Passing

Radioactive. Yes

Can't Stop Me. No, this is your JadaKiss song ?

The Ruler's Back. Passing. JayZ'd up to here

Why Do We Think We Are. No. Only thing good about Legend is his chick.

All Of The Lights. Yes. Thank god it wasn't off Yeezus.

Now Or Never. No. K.Lamar, and we get this ? Swimming Pools ! HOF hit.

Can't Hold Us. Yes.

Hate Me Now. No. So old and played out, not interested

In The Air Tonight. Yes great song, odd fit though, racing game.

Elevator. Yes. Odd fit as well, just jamming in the garage cool tho.

Howlin' For U. Yes. Great fit.

Conclusion: Nine out of twenty tracks got "YES'" from me, six got passings, that's 15/20. I gotta say it works, good job 2K, we can't expect perfection for a video game. I sure wish it wouldn't be edited though.

I like the soundtrack but i also have an IPod that has my own music

Sometimes i just think why not just make the soundtrack full of instrumentals

I agree with almost everything you just said. But like I said earlier in this thread, I know Swimming Pools along with Money Trees are easily Kendricks best, but both have suggestive subject matter such drugs and violence which 2k won't take a chance on because of the strict ESRB. And I think 2k learned from the butchered mess they called Mercy. Now or Never is a great track as well.

Thx. Yea you're right I'm sure.
