I read through a few pages of this thread, and I see a few people who share my opinion.

I couldn't care less about Euroleague basketball being included in 2K14. I buy NBA 2K games for what the title entails - NBA teams and players.

As mentioned, I would hate for the inclusion of these teams to mean the exclusion of the classic teams, as I got a lot of use out of the classic teams and players. But, I was expecting the classic teams to be left out this year, anyway, as I feel like I remember 2K signing Jordan to a 3 year deal prior to 2K11, so I would imagine a lot of their contracts with classic players have expired.

Still, I have no interest European basketball. This will likely be the first time in 4 or 5 years that I don't purchase 2K on release day or within the first week. I doubt the gameplay will be that much better on the current gen, so I'll probably stick with 2K13 until I get a PS4.

That's a good point. I just don't personally get why they would add all the shoes they did in 2k13, and then leave virtually every player with ugly generic shoes.

And to say that "shoes don't make the player/video game" is basically giving an excuse for 2k to overlook roster accuracy, IMO. It's not about defining the 2k series, it's about making the game feel "complete"

But this is sort of off-topic I think. It's just my opinion; I'd personally prefer if they actually utilize the shoes they put into the game.

Can't wait to play with Marcelinho!!!

In all seriousness its been confirmed that Live 14 is going to have classic teams, so you all looking for throwback teams may want to look at that instead. EA more than likely signed the past players on a new deal since 2ks three year deal with the classic players like MJ expired with 2k13. Otherwise you may have to stick with this years game.

Personally I like the EL teams are in and hope its integrated in association somehow. If not it will still be a decent feature to have.

I do wonder how accurate the roster will be. Will they use this years? Last years? They have a hard enough time updating the NBA rosters. I can only imagine how these will be. That said I'm excited they are including euroleague teams.

*Yawn*

Like others have pointed out on this thread, this feature doesn't make 2K14 a 'must buy' for me. I buy the 2K series for NBA play, not Euro.

Now, if they can incorporate this into association play, I'll be excited. I miss the D-League and the options to ship rookies prospects or call them up. Why would I want to play a Euro League game in the 'quick game' section? Can someone answer that for me? Seems like a waste, imo. Wish they would give us more information, guess we have to wait for them to tease us further.

There's tons of euro players in the nba as we speak so I don't get when people say stuff like "I could care less about this feature I buy nba for nba"

You bring up my Career Mode, which is BASICALLY a CAP player, which you could make for Association Mode, but instead it is a MODE that takes up a TON of room on the Disc. Not bashing shoes or My Career, just making a point they arent REALLY necessary to make guys like myself but a game. Now adding Euroleague teams to a game would make me buy a game. For you to say it is a BACK of the BOX Feature is ridiculous.

Adding EuroLeague teams makes the game MUCH better for TRUE basketball fans. I mean guys are always excited about what Euro players will be in the Draft, Most of the TOP Younger guys are on the TOP Euroleague teams. I think this addition TRULY makes this a GLOBAL Basketball Game.
But there is no information out to suggest that the Euroleague teams will be involved with Association in any way.

Also, elaborate on how the addition of these teams makes the game better for "true" basketball fans. If I don't follow the Euroleague, then I'm not a true basketball fan? I'd rather say it makes the game better for Euroleague fans.

This is a NBA game, with the focus on CURRENT NBA players. I'm not overly-excited that they added teams full of players I've never heard of (and the occasional former NBA player). That's no slight to those that do though. It'll be cool, maybe even as a change of pace, but unless it's integrated with Association, it doesn't move me.

No suggestion that it WONT be Association Mode either, we will have to wait for more info.

Do you have any idea how MANY ex Euroleague players are in the NBA? Euroleague teams are flooded with Younger guys who will be in NBA before long. As far as TRUE basketball fan statement, i mean a Global fan. You seem to be ALL about NBA and NBA is NOT the ONLY basketball Association in the World. I love the NBA, but i love watching FIBA and Euroleague basketball. It is Complete different brand of Basketball. As was proven when Team USA hit a rough patch in Early to Mid 2000s in FIBA play. 2k has realized there is MORE to basketball than the NBA and is Expanding its brand in an UNTAPPED market. Which is great because that will just bring in MORE Revenue, which will in turn mean MORE options for 2k Basketball games in the Future.

No. They're wearing the Under Armour Torches. They're already in 2K13.

Roster accuracy and shoes are totally different things. One thing has an impact on gameplay, the other you hardly notice.

I think it was only confirmed that Live will feature legends which makes it seem likely they will have classic teams but for all we know could mean decade all stars or something like that. I doubt it but it's still not "confirmed". Unless there is some news I'm not aware of.

That means also possible mods for College Basketball. Oh man the possibilities.

This looks great but I hope it doesn't interfere with the other things on the game.

I associated legends with classic teams as just having random *** legends without teams is stupid but we'll see

Thanks for the article. I'm assuming Legends will be gone, I don't see how they can compensate legends and euroleague players. In my opinion I would much rather have Michael Jordan and other legends than some guys I never heard of. That's just me.

I am thinking they will have both, I had thought I read Jordan had resigned, but I cant find it. 2k will make alot from European Customers buying the game and that should be enough to cover both Legends and Euroleague rights. I feel by including the Euroleague, 2k has opened a HUGE market for new customers. This is the start of a HUGE Global expansion for 2k in my opinion.
