I was going to chime in on the OP, but the thread has been derailed from the OP.

So if you want to know the what will be the differences between the editing features for "Coach's" via EA's Editing and Xan's Editor, go over to the Dynasty Editor Thread or PM me.

There are some some Gameplay affects, as well as non-gameplay affects the Editor allows.

I thought that was in the game last year though? I always edited specialty for my tb coaches has the functionality changed in some way?

its a good first step but purely cosmetic at best when it comes to actually affecting what we see on the field.

a 3 pt boost here and there does not help on 4th and 5, where some coaches are known gamblers and some are known safe play punt it.

les miles is the same as saban in this game, rich rodrigues is the same as some first year coach in D2...

what they should give us is:

offense focus --- 4WR v 2WR& 2TE v west coast(rb catching out the back field) etc( pro v spread is too generic)
deep v intermediate v short pass attack
redzone aggressiveness jumbo v spread
ST aggressiveness, fakes trick play likelyhood etc

for D

blitz speciality=== LB v DB
COVERAGE MAN V ZONE
redzone ggressiveness, bump v loose,

there are so much more they could use so when i come to town to play i have to actually gameplay for what the team likes to do....

finally they realized that not every option runs the same option attack well the same should apply to every teams passing attack....

some teams are known dink dunk offenses while some are known air it out offenses...

the current aggressive/conservative does not work it appeared to until one of the patches in 13 then no matter what teams run random offenses...

teams have identities they are not as random as what we get

Well im one of those type that like realizm over all so this add so much more to this game. I like the fact the coaches that has been in the game and won gets their do. Now the underdogs we will truly see and knw y they were hired or fired.

I was looking for things like
zone or power run blocking scheme
1st, 2nd, third down tendency sliders for defense
Offensive scenarios like EA's gameplan thing (sorry forgot what it is called)
Aggressive or conservative at the end of half/games
4th down tendencies (punt or go for it)

The game of American football can really be broken down to scenarios and strategy at the coaching level. Yet we have very few sliders and no ability to create plays.

By comparison the game of basketball is very free flowing and can be played with minimal coaching.....yet those games have an amazing amount of coaching sliders.....

I guess I was hoping for way more control over the programs strategy and X's and O's.

Hopefully we will get that level of depth in future iterations

Personally, I can't tell you what facemask anyone for LSU wears. But I know Les Miles' coaching stats.

There's a reason ESPN discusses what coaches have done in the past, and they never bring up when someone changes their facemask or is wearing a different style of cleat.

Wait, did CPU controlled edited coaches really change back to default PB in NCAA 13

# 69 DorianDonP @ 06/25/13 10:41 PM
Few thoughts.

1. So you can edit the stats of every coach before starting a dynasty? Like average recruiting ranking? What are the default stats for the coaches? Are they all even?

2. If I'm reading this right and stats can be fully edited, then you can prolly add another week of roster making for the awesome folks of Operation Sports. Getting all of those stats to be accurate is going to take some time.

3. Curious, but why aren't real coach likenesses in NCAA football? They aren't student athletes so why cant Nick Saban and Urban Meyer be represented in the game?

4. If the stats for coaches are referenced as stat overlays during games then it's going to add a ton of immersion to dynasty as they years go on. Please happen.

Doesnt mean upgraded unis and equipment should not be updated. Espn not discussing this doesnt make it any less important, considering players will be swayed to attend schools based on uniforms.

I wonder if the coach contract length is longer than 3 years. Would like to see it be more realistic

Will gameface work offline?

# 73 erod328 @ 06/25/13 10:57 PM
So this "Level" stat, what is it? Is it like a 40 - 99 rating similarto players? Or is it like kinda like four or six settings ranging from Green to Elite?

Its very hard because everybody wants 1 face mask, colored cleats, etc come on people alot more important things to worry about...

If you look to the left Texas has gray and orange base layer. Pretty cool.

Glasses or sunglasses? I know you can give normal seeing glasses

On #3, I'm pretty sure it's a money thing. Why pay the coaches for their likeness when we the community will edit them in anyways? Smart on their part, really.

I'm pretty sure I played a Purdue computer controlled team that had hired Brian Bohannon(Tech's original "OC" on NCAA 13) and they ran out of the Flex

The design on the palm side of the glove is pretty interesting, too.

dude dont you realize the NCAA has restrictions on the helmets and Accessories you can wear. The gear you see in Madden, some off it cant be worn in the NCAA. Jesus Christ, most of the facemasks are in, so just be grateful.
