Madden NFL 25 News Post

UTC's Corey Andress has posted his early Madden NFL 25 impressions of the Run Free running moves, improved run blocking and more.

Quote:
I also noticed a few new animations, including seeing the defending linemen push offensive linemen back. What felt so good about the run blocking was the fact that you actually feel rewarded by staying behind lead blockers and waiting for holes to open up. It was noticeable from the very first game I played. It was also great to see blockers think the way they should. Intelligence on the line has definitely ramped up. Screens were really effective if played against the right defense, so fans of teams such as the Redskins and the Patriots – who have a ton of screens in their playbooks, should feel a lot more at home this year.

I like what i'm hearing with run free. playing with shady at times were annoying because the cutback animation didn't always work right. plus have djack with high attributes should be fun to play with eagles..just worry bout the qb and defense

Nice read.

Loving the way the running game is sounding so far!

Very cool. The CPU takes full advantage of run-free features, defenses on both sides then have to adjust pursuit angles and the stumble recovery isn't something that sounds cheesable.

A great story with a somber ending.

I take the feedback with a shadow of reflection as fatigue gradients were touted to be a complimenting factor in run-free.

Im content hearing the standalone praise until we can get that two-piece serving.

Run blocking is fine, but where is the news with pass blocking? Is there finally double team blocking? That's what I wanna hear.

Unrelated, but are those new gloves that Desmond Bishop is wearing? He wore these last year. Also, as we have mentioned with other players before(Vick screenshot) it looks like he got a new face scan.

They never said something about the run blocking being improved last year, every review/preview I ever read said it was still awful.

The good: All of the run modifiers, a visible difference between speed and power backs

The Bad: nothing

The Ugly: Stamina and Momentum still have to be "tweaked". Wasn't IE2 always touted as "momentum based physics"? Let's hope that this gets the attention it deserves. I really don't want to see a RB or WR jump over a defender and bowl over the safety like he's a rag doll in one complete animation..

Thats cool, what I would like to know is how is "collision detection/clipping?

Manual control of the safety, is "riskier" than before as opposed to everyone being Troy P or Ed Reed every down?

These are things that effect on things of this nature as it just nulls and voids it when people play 'arcadey' and the game neglects actual foot planting that would in essence make people who user control players play more wisely instead of how they play the game now.

Being a defensive mind I really hope I can put together a D to stop all I'm hearing..but at the same time can't wait to run wit Ray Rice and Baltimores beast O Line

Well they were supposed to have a video released yesterday about the defensive improvements, but it was delayed last night and as of now still hasn't been released today. Hopefully it will be released soon.

I think they're still the same gloves.

Man, doing a google search for football gloves just reminded me how huge of an equipment junkie I am and how many different styles of gloves I want to see in the game.

They might just be the full color ones that look like this.
