Odds are we will see a new MLB 13 The Show roster update before the game ships on March 5th, but thanks to chrisjohnson83, the current list of free agents in the game can be seen right here.
There's some pretty good free agents in there. For franchise mode I had hoped there'd be some good guys left in the free agent pool by the time OSFM dropped so I could sign them to either trade at the deadline or make a run in 2013. From that list I'm willing to bet that Oswalt, Rolen, Thome, and Sizemore will still be available on Opening Day; I'm pretty sure Braden is hurt and hasn't pitched in nearly two years anyway so I bet he will too. Probably a couple of decently rated relievers too. There's actually a decent chance that I won't be able to afford the available players I want, which is kind of nice in a sort of disappointing way.
There was a roster update yesterday (02/25/13) but lots of changes weren't reflected from quick glance . Seen Jason Giambi still a free agent even though he signed with Indians on Feb 16
It seems that every sports game always has guys rated way too high on the free agent list. There is a good reason why many of those guys aren't signed - they just aren't that good anymore. Valverde an 87? No way.

Three year weighted average and the playoffs don't impact the ratings...

Quite.
Take last years playoffs out and Valverde has converted 110 out of his last 118 save opportunities.
You know how many other closers have bettered that in those same last 3 years?
Absolutely nobody.
Dont get me wrong i lost no sleep as a Tigers fan when we let him go but dont let one ALCS meltdown distort the fact the guy is a very good closer and has been for a long time, antics and all.

When you lose it, it's quick. Ask John Rocker, Wild Thing Williams, Steve Avery and Jose Mesa
