NBA 2K13 Demo Arrives Next Tuesday - Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

The NBA 2K13 demo arrives next Tuesday, September 25th for 360 (Gold members, Silver members get it the following Tuesday) and PS3, featuring one quarter of play between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat.

The NBA 2K13 demo will be online enabled, but will not feature any commentary. More details as we get it.

UPDATE: Online enabled means, 1 vs. 1 quick games with random opponents.
UPDATE #2: One 5 minute quarter.

One letdown I'm anticipating with this online enabled demo is that it will only permit us to play against ramdom users like the ranked games. Not actually a biggie but playing and testing the online performance with your OA buddies would be nice.

Or did they announce that we can play with our XBL/PSN friends?

I saw this coming. 2k really insists on making us wait. The demo would be more valuable if it were released two weeks before release, but oh well. At least after next week, there's only one more week until the full game is ours.

Hmm. Didn't they do this once before with releasing it a week before the game's release? I could swear they have cuz I was even thinking last month that they might do it again.

What I'm upset about is its already late-mid September and all were getting is player ratings. Who cares about that you can edit it anyway, I wanna see game play, or news on association Player ratings does nothing!

Why would it be more valuable? You cant buy the game until the 2nd anyway.

Actually, 2K9's demo was released on 10/2/08 then the full game actually released on 10/7. Lol. FIVE whole days of tinkering til the real deal, that year.

I couldn't imagine anything under 5 minutes. I mean, a 3 minute demo would be cheap. Hoping for around 8 min quarter.

I see what 2K did here.

They want to start pushing this online feature. Perhaps there are future plans for extra online content (new revenue stream like FIFA's ultimate team) in NBA2K series.

If demo came out tomorrow, people with silver account like myself will probably just wait out another week and never experience online side of 2K13. Now I have to consider upgrading my account to Gold in order to test the game out before the release date. Oh they know how many of us are waiting.

They also know this. If I get Gold account, I might as well check out the online match up. After all, playing against CPU for first quarter only will become boring soon. 2kSports probably want me to get hooked on this online feature.... They will capitalize on this soon or later. I know it.

Anyhow I'm fine with this... they can do whatever they want with online side of things as long as Offline association improvement doesn't get neglected because of it.

I'm ecstatic to finally get news on the demo and it's online enabled. This is awesome. One thing I hate is when it comes to demos or games being released feels like an eternity.

One more week isn't to bad, though I was hoping to play it this week.

I'd be surprised if online enabled means what everyone her is thinking it means.
