NBA 2K Hairstyle Disasters

Players come at sports video games from a lot of different angles these days. You can run a fantasy draft and make the dream team you’ve always wanted. You can try to take your favorite team as-is and do your best to better them. You can play with friends or strangers around the world. But ever since I can remember, my favorite part of any title has been designing my own player to draft onto my favorite team or (more recently) run through a game’s career mode.

And since the beginning, the NBA 2K series has been disappointing me with its hairstyles.

They took that out because in 2k12 you could adjust the length of hair styles.

EA did it right in Madden with the GameFace this year. The hair looks about like your actual hair when you create someone. If 2K can manage to do something like that it'd be great. You'd be able to create players exactly like their real life counterparts from overseas/college/etc.

They should add a few hairstyles that look good on white player models..

My player is white (as I am in real life) and I have to use the 'Short Buzz' haircut and it doesn't look right. The rest of the hairstyles are just dumb.. (Ex. The Patch, Mop, etc.) Remove those hairstyles and add some that players would actually use and appreciate.

I know there was a thread for this but I just noticed Jennings hair style when I recently used him. He doesn't look like that anymore. Go figure, it's 10 months ago.

But just look at Jennings his hair now and in game...

In NBA 2K13 he still has that mohawk with shaved sides with something in it.

It annoys me to no end 2k can render Jae Crowder (and Marquis Daniels) some decent looking realistic dreads but say to hell with Faried and the CAP horrible dreads. Not to mention the rest of the horrible selections and colors. Blond hair looks like crap

And don't get me started in outdated player hair models

Keep the Mop if they can't fix the Fro, I don't wanna see my man Jackie Moon's or Julius Erving's or anyone with an Afro with their ears showing 100%, I'm fine with little notices like the tips, but, applying a headband makes the Afro on the player look stupid../
