Stats looked good and pretty realistic but then again I'm not a huge stat guy but it's always nice to see this stuff at least look close to realistic.

Yea we dont know if it was 5 or 15 min quarters, pro or all-madden. Remember sliders make this game. I actually thought there were a bunch of sacks per team, maybe not one player made more than 13 but still spread pretty good. Way to many TDs from teams that should not have that many"Jags" with 31 I think. Maybe the cpu used xp to bring up BG in awareness or something, who knows.
Did anyone see how many tackles any FSs got?
I hope they fixed it so its more than 20 to 30.

Seems like it'd be difficult to lead the league in any meaningful stats if the league is being simmed at 15 minutes and you're playing 5 minutes, or if you're playing 5 minutes and the league is being simmed at 5 minutes then the stats would be low.
I remember EA did that with nba live I hope they do that with madden way undervalued feature in my opinion

It was a simulated season so quarter length, difficulty, and sliders don't matter. I can't remember if there is an option to change simulation quarter length but I'm sure it was set to 15.

It doesn't. You have to ensure that you are getting enough plays to have realistic stats.

I thought in one of the E3 videos, Josh Looman said Adem has been working on the stat engine for the last year, as it was re-written. I thought I heard that, but maybe he was working on something else. These look pretty good, although not liking see a DT lead the league in sacks.

Well, it has become a passing league. Last year there were 5 QB's with more than 30 TD passes, 3 of which threw 40+. I didn't like how many 1200+ rushers there were. BUT, even that isn't outside the realm of possibility. I believe it was 2003 (when Jamal Lewis rushed for 2000+) when there 14 RB's that rushed for 1200+. The league evolves almost on an every other year basis. I hope the sack thing was just a fluke of that simmed season...and I wouldn't call McCourty mediocre. He's pretty good.

Last season there was 1 1,400 yard rusher and 7 1,200 yard rushers (8 if you count McGahee's 1,199 yard campaign). In the game, there were 11 1,400 yard rushers and 22 1,200 yard rushers (Greene had 1,199).

Last year, there were 3 40 TD passers and 5 30 TD passers (Matt Ryan and Eli Manning threw 29 each). In the game, there were 2 40 TD passers and 15 30 TD passers.

Welker's low TD number doesn't bother me. Look at the 2008 and 2009 seasons in those years he had a combined total of 234 receptions and only 7 touchdowns. I'm sure Welker will get more than one in real life this year, but with the additions of Lloyd and Gaffney along with Gronk and Hernandez it's not unbelievable that he only grabbed one TD.

However, I was surprised to see Devin McCourty leading the league with 9 INTs. I'd love for this to happen in real life. Another thing I noticed is INT yards he had 9 picks, but only brought them back 6 yards? In fact INT yards are low for everyone looking at the top guys in picks:

D. McCourty - 9 INTs for 6 yards
A. Cromartie - 6 INTs for 33 yards
D. Levy - 6 INTs for 4 yards
N. Asomugha - 6 INTs for 0 yards
C. Houston - 6 INTs for 7 yards
N. Barnett - 5 INTs for 5 yards

One last thing the rosters will be updated for the launch, right? I noticed Joseph Addai was on the Patriots and Chad Johnson was on the Dolphins in that video.

only thing i saw that made me really worry was they removed assisted tackles and half sacks. guess they couldnt get it working and scrapped it altogether. kinda disheartening considering they worked in '12 just fine. i knew there was gonna be an issue with those assisted tackles and half sacks the first game i played on the demo and only had 2 assisted tkls thru a whole game when i witnessed way more. guess the engine just couldnt handle dividing them up properly. ah well at least they removed it so it wont stick out every game when i look at the stats and make me angry

Would've been a good opportunity for a stat banner in-game. They missed it.

I think you have the choice on if you want 5 to 15 min simulated quarters. I always thought sliders did work when simming, might be wrong though.
Anyone know if players progress on there own at the end of the year, or if its only manually during the year?

Wow, so they took assisted tackles and half sacks out of retail? Kind of a bummer, but I guess if they weren't recording correctly, why have them in?

Am i the only one that noticed that in every madden game Marques Colston always leads the league in receptions in the first few seasons

Looks like the game favors the offense. The best defensive team gave up 5400 yds? That's about a grand too much. Looked like about a dozen squads put up over 30 ppg. The fifth best offense last year scored 25 ppg. Too few sacks. Too many carries for the top hb on the depth chart. Hopefully can all be fixed via sliders.

Been saying this about pancakes for years.

High rushing numbers looks like a case of back ups not getting enough attempts.. Hence the high amount of guys getting over 300 rushes. Too bad I cant fix that.

Most of the stats look ok but can't seem to figure out why there are so many DTs leading the league in sacks, yet not 1 OLB is in the mix. How does that work if my team is running an attacking 3-4? For example, looking at the manual Dallas run an Attacking 3-4 and prefers pass rushing OLB which they currently have..

Me thinks since sacks are already too low as we can see, maybe Ware only has 6 or so sacks which counts as a "good" season for a "pass rushing" OLB. I would like to know what his goals are.

So I am guessing Pass rushing DT's > Pass Rushing OLB?

Also a lot of QB's throwing tons on picks (a handful over 20) tells me that the AI doesn't bench poor performing QB's as I hoped. Most of those guys (low ratio, low QB rating guys) would have been benched for a game or two IRL or if I was in charge of things.

# 60 Caveman24 @ 08/23/12 12:07 AM
They need to fix it Tarvis Jackson threw 29 TD's and Mark Sanchez threw 34 thats crazy dang near every QB I seen threw for over 25 TD's
