Here it is, our first glimpse of NBA Live 13 in action.

Thoughts?

UPDATE: EA has taken down the video. Look through the comments section and you might be able to see a few pop up there, until they are removed as well.

If EA wasn't so damn secretive and actually garnered honest input for this game...maybe they wouldn't have such a piss poor product.

They tried pulling the wool over people's eyes at E3. No one could play it.
They canceled a private showing of Live.
They didnt have anything at Gamescom.
Live wasn't even a part of EA's earning release.

We're we all supposed to think that they were hard at work on the game and had some big bombshell of a showing to sway people back into their arms?

It's the end of August.

It's about damn time something was seen.

I don't think you can release that in 2012.

Why didn't they start back with live 10. From what I hear it was a decent game.

wow this looks awful....not awful in the sense of awful...just awful for a game with 2013 on it. it does in fact look like a game from 07-09. i honestly dont think this could even hang with nba2k8. the running was terrible...they were running half the time and skating the other half. i honestly have to say maddens running animations are better than this game...wow!

presentation was ok, sounds was ok. the game just seemed bland and lifeless as far as the players. all the same shots every time...i mean this is 2013 now. you'd figure we'd be past a game having only like 5-10 diff shots being shared by all the players in the nba. if ur not gonna go full signature moves...how hard is it to signature the stars of the game, then have 20-50 diff animation packages u can assign to all the other players who are lesser known and give them something as close to actual as u can. 2k has a ton of player emotion and faces made and their reactions as things happen on the court. plus signature moves. 2k absolutely buries live. this game was like watching robots play bball. no emotion or feel...just playing.

i think the only way this sells is like some of u guys already said...a arcade title at $15 or i could even see $19.99 for those who are too cheap to buy $60 nba2k13 or just wanna buy 2k13 and also want something diff as an alternative to keep bball fresh. thats about it tho...unless im really missing something here.

In hindsight, that was a third party source and since it looks like EA didn't sanction it, one could argue it's a very early build.

For some reason the animations and the player models remind me of the Live 2000 I had for my PSX (albeit with updated graphics and better presentation)! And in case you're wondering that was NOT a compliment!

Still watching this on the youtube app on my XBox (guessing it wont be able to be accessed when I finish it) One thing I noticed with the ESPN scorebug, there is no ubiquitous EA Sports logo in the corner like NCAA and the Elite Demo had. Makes me wonder if this was a really early build that was never meant to see the light of day.

It's kinda like the LeBron James/Nike LeBron getting dunked on footage confiscation. Even though LeBron might not have asked for Nike to confiscate the footage they did anyway and he took heat for it. Even though it wasn't a sanctioned release of footage, it's out there and a lot of people have seen and are probably talking about it and for them to take it down they'll catch some heat for it.

Maybe this was going to be the build EA was supposed to show to the select media outlets a few weeks back? Either way this is a very early build some of the sound is off the shot clock/time on the bottom needs to be fixed and the defense and offense needs to be fixed as well(or it could already be fixed). The game doesnt look that bad aside from those issues

OH MY GOODNESS. WOW. What have these guys been doing for the last year and a half????? Well, this MUST be an unfinished build because there seems to be no shaders whatsoever on the players... these dudes look like play-dough. Listen to the sound when the ball hits the rim...? Wow. This literally looks like an IPAD game.

Props to Cedric for digging up some footage. The game looked about as good as I expected it to considering the silence. I guess it could've been cleaned up since that build, but that's doubtful. Great comments in here guys lol.

If EA's claim is going to be that this footage was from an old build, and they want to recoup Live 13's image (if that's even possible at this point), then they ought to release a full quarter of gameplay with the same teams with the newest build they've got.

Show us the difference in builds (with a ton of improvements) while we're still buzzing about it instead of continuing to hide the game.

This has to be an early build because I don't see a lot of the technology that the developers were touting. So maybe it wasn't incorporated in this build.

- No off ball animations, they said they spent tons of time on the off ball movement and animations (Move with a purpose), yet I don't see any off ball animations at all.

- Don't see the basketball I.Q because at 3:38 the whole team is standing beyond the 3pt line while Durant is dribbling. don't see any A.I adapting also.

- No playmaker engine, because if this is what world class animation technology looks like then count me out.

The game just looks unfinished, EA explain yourselves.
