Is the NBA Live 13 Cover Athlete, LeBron James?

Just received this NBA Live 13 cover art featuring LeBron James, from an anonymous source.

Take it with a grain of salt for now, but it is something we can chew on, while we wait for EA Sports and the NBA Live 13 team to make any announcements, on well... anything.

Besides, this looks like somebody tried to copy the 2k12 cover with the paint splatter coming off Michael Jordan. It's so obvious that it's fake.

If you don't think the decision affected him negatively you must either live in miami or only associate yourself with people who are lebron james fans. The fact that the Heat are the most hated team in the league should be evidence enough that the decision hurt his image. Him winning MVP and the finals this year however is the best possible thing that could have happened to his career at this point.

the cover looks pretty cool. hoping they release the game and release it on time. i was looking forward to incorporating my 2k day off from work with some nba live as well.

That's hard to say about Lebron or any athlete, especially for something like a videogame. Athletes are typically gamers, especially for sports games; EA sports is a well-known name to them. So if EA Sports, the biggest sports videogame brand in the world, approaches Lebron and says "You are the biggest name in your sport right now, we want you on the cover of our new NBA Live game. We will offer you X amount of dollars (possibly offer him a contract for multiple years)." Lebron might want to know how good the product will be but at the same time he is going to get his money either way. If Live flops with Lebron on the cover its no sweat off his back. Look at Durant he seems to be doing perfectly fine after Elite got cancelled.

I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that Lebron James will not be on the cover of Live 13. This cover doesn't even look real. It actually looks bad IMO. I'm not feeling the colors and design at all.

LeBron wouldnt not be on the game because its good.. his first motivation would be because they threa a boatload of cash at him

NoticeO stop trying to fabricate in your mind that this is going to be some bomb game because someone shopped a fake photo with LeBron on it

Gil Arenas in his prime said Live was fake and that he plays 2k then ended up on the cover of Live 08, not because it was good but because you know he got paid

Not fabricating anything in my mind, never said game would be bomb, i said if LeBron was gonna be on the cover of this game then it couldn't be another NBA Elite. I'm sure he would do some research before putting his image on something.

Gilbert Arenas at his best was no where as marketable as LeBron is now. LeBron is already paid and makes about 40 million off endorsements a year, money alone can't be his sole reason for being on the cover (if it is him).

Gilbert Arenas would have taken any endorsement possible at that time. LeBron chooses who he wants to endorse because he is LeBron "King" James and has been dealing with business endorsements and situations since high school. He knows what he's doing.

Now I believe that if the cover really is LeBron James and he chose to put his image this game then Live 13 must have something to offer us gamers in terms of quality.

and again this is not about LeBron, this is about you wishing Live has some kind of substance which you choose to ignore even though there is no evidence to support this stance

... and to add to that, you're basing this all off of a fake cover sent by a no named person
