NBA Live 13 News Post

Jon Robinson just posted via Twitter, NBA Live 13 will not be shown at the EA Sports media event tomorrow. After we got our hopes up yesterday.

Quote:
Just got word that NBA Live will no longer be at the EA Sports media event tomorrow, but will have its own event at a later time.

Kotaku's Owen Good asked EA for a release date and received this head-scratching response.

Quote:
Asked EA Sports: "At this stage, will NBA Live 13 release on 10/2, or prior to NBA's 10/30 tipoff?" Reply: "At this stage, yes."

Let the rumors fly, because after all... That is all we have at this point.

To put it lightly....this isn't looking good if you were somehow looking forward to NBA Live 13.

EA still has Madden to push and NHL..Once madden is released and they still haven't gave up any info on live then all the talk is warrant. We dont even know much about 2K besides j being the executive producer and guitar hero slam dunk contest. So just take it easy, calm down. I know EA has more on the line maybe that why they not rushing to show the game off yet. Just give them till september.

So did NBA 2k6, both came out on November 15, 2005, so I imagine that the NBA did decide the release date for those games.

You know we do know about 2k? They will release the most up to date simulation basketball game on 10/2. That's all that matters

yeah but that release date was for xbox 360, ps2 and xbox released on sept 26 of that year. New Next Gen consoles are the exception to the rule.

What trailers man?

They were tip toeing around showing us anything besides cheap dribble moves and tech demos from their computers...until the venice videos came out

I know because I was here.

Who to say they can get an exception this year?

Who knows man I never stated that wasn't a possibility but we have yet to see it happen, usually these contract agreements are pretty set in stone on a release date though.

I think I've figured it out...

D. Howard is the cover boy and they're waiting for him to decide... lol

Seriously now, the only plausible explanation I can find right now (and I'm trying really hard) is that they got LeBron (or any other guy playing in the Olympics) on the cover and they're waiting for him to be in this "big event".

They can throw LeBron saying "we're not gonna beat 2k in 1 year. Not in 1, not in 2, not in 3..." and then the words "3 YEAR PLAN" on a big screen... At this point, laugh at themselves can be a good start...

Some of you guys are shameful, you praise NBA LIVE like a cult. Many of you tried to downplay NBA ELITE and still wanted it. If something stinks it should be told it stinks instead of just putting up with it no matter how much it reeks!
Fans need to get past the us against them attitude. It should be about getting the most realistic representation of the sport we love without settling.

This is funny, guys are giving out quantum physics reasons now. Talking about the only reason for this is the earth's gravitational pull divided by the earth distance from the moon x a 90 degree angle + the kite and key that Ben Franklin used to discover electricity is the plausible explantion... LOL

In the meantime, create "buzz" by keeping everyone guessing if or not the game will even be released and what exactly is being hidden.

Reverse marketing at it's finest and the masses are eating it up. This is getting better and better.

Again, THANK YOU EA!!!!
thanks for the laugh.. this thread needed it.

I believe that was sarcasm or I hope it was. Either that or EA just maybe causing a mass delusional episode amongst their fans and staff. This is really starting to feel like the Elite 11 debacle all over again. It's starting to become sad where this once great series is headed.

Ea trying to make sure there is no jesus at half court etc.. type moments that can happen. Last thing they need is a viral video on youtube of some new blunder for live 13.

You mean 2 months from release and they are not at a beta stage is nothing to talk about.

Wow didnt know people still played Live. Or Elite or whatever their calling it now. Seriously I loved live back in the day, but I have absolutely no allegiance to EA or 2K or Activision, Xbox, Playstation. If you want my hard earned dollars you better show me something more than we'll do better next time. So in case anyone was wondering Ill be buying the new 2K this NBA season...again....just like I did the last 7 years.
