Madden NFL 13 News Post

Voting has begun to determine which quarterback has the strongest arm in Madden NFL 13. For the remainder of the week, we'll see polls for accuracy and awareness.

This campaign allows fans to vote on attributes like speed, elusiveness, hit power and more. The winner of each vote will be the highest-rated player for that attribute at their position in Madden NFL 13.

Upcoming weeks will focus on running backs, wide receivers and defenders, with the winners in each category announced every Friday. Here is the voting schedule breakdown:
  • July 30 – Aug 3: Quarterbacks – Speed, Throw Power, Throw Accuracy, Awareness
  • Aug 6 – 10: Running Backs – Speed, Acceleration, Trucking, Elusiveness
  • Aug 13 – 17: Wide Receivers & Tight Ends – Speed, Spectacular Catch, Route Running, Agility
  • Aug 20 – 24: Defense – Speed, Hit Power, Tackling, Man Coverage
  • Aug 24: Offensive Line, Special Teams and Overall Team Ratings
Not only will each winner receive a boost in their attributes in Madden NFL 13, but they’ll also be immortalized with a special card in Madden Ultimate Team. Fans who collect the cards of every winning player will be able to add them to a collection which will unlock a special Madden Ultimate Team reward in Madden NFL 13.

So the question is... Which QB should have the strongest arm (Throw Power Rating) in Madden NFL 13?
  • Matthew Stafford
  • Jay Cutler
  • Josh Freeman

My vote, Matthew Stafford.

The voting for player ratings isn't as bad as I thought on Friday. I may actually vote.

I mean seriously, what do they base this BS off of. At least do some damn research or something. Jaws' take is not God, but at least he has some reasoning as to why he thinks Flacco has the strongest arm in the league.http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...est-arm-in-nfl

And then you are gonna leave this up to the fans and only give them half of who should be on the list. I am very upset about this.

I agree completely. I don't get too involved in this type of discussion, but I'm going to stick up for players on my team when I think they have been completed disrespected and to not have Flacco on the voting card is a slap in the damn face to Ravens fans who play Madden.

I like Josh Freeman. I've seen the Bucs quite a bit over the past few seasons, but I don't see him on this list over Vick, Flacco, or even Newton.

I know some people are going to look at this as no big deal because it's a point difference here or there, but if this game is supposed to be authentic, and the ratings aren't completely arbitrary, then how does this voting do anything but undermine that?

I'm not even a Ravens fan and I know that flacco has the strongest arm.

boy, ea why do this, I mean it is just nonsense. Fans are just going to vote for their favorite players. And the ratings system is already screwed up. I mean A. Rodgers is a 99 Orv so that means he is the best football player who ever lived. And Donny Moore,. why is cutler on this list...?

My top three are 1. Flacco then Vick or Newton because they are about the same.

Madden marketing, backfiring; the game just went from rental, to pass. I just can't support nonsense like this. SMH.

# 16 azdawgpound @ 07/31/12 03:39 PM
i dont even know why there doing all this voting donnys gonna make them whatever he feels they should be this is just huge waste of time on ea's part. and why only 3 qb's? last time i checked the nfl had 32 teams and i do believe theres more then 3 qb's who have strong arms.

Hey Straw,

You avatar led me to another thought: what happened to Brady? Shouldn't he be on this list? Anyone remember how he was rated 92 THP for the longest time in Madden (I always thought that was a tad low), then all of a sudden after the 50 TD season, he's a 99 THP in Madden 08.

They even posted a vid of a throw from the Super Bowl that they said demonstrated more arm strength than anyone else in the NFL. It was, incidentally, almost the identical throw to the Hail Mary that ended this year's Super Bowl.

here's top 10 from madden 12 for throw power

1. Matthew Stafford 99
2. Jay Cutler & Ryan Mallett 98
3. Michael Vick & Cam Newton & Josh Freeman & Jamarcus Russell 97
4. John Skelton 96
5. Aaron Rodgers & Tom Brady & Joe Flacco & Tarvaris Jackson & Jake Locker & Derek Anderson & Nate Davis & Jerrod Johnson & Ryan Perrilloux 95
6. Johathan Crompton & Hunter Cantwell & Chad Henne & Peyton Manning & Big Ben 94
7. Carson Palmer & Jason Campbell & Byron Leftwich & J.P. Loseman 93
8. Donovan Mcnabb & Colin Kaepernick & Tyrod Taylor & Nathan Enderle 92
9. Tony Romo & Kyle Boller 91
10. Eli Manning & David Garrard & Rex Grossman & Jimmy Clausen & Terrelle Pryor & Rhett Bomar & Josh Portis 90.

now i know some of the rookies for this yr like Brandon Weedens is gonna be a 93,Andrew Luck is a 92 and RG3 is a 96 so those 3 rookies if they use the MUT ratings also Ryan Tannehill will have a 90 so those are all gonna be in top 10 as far as throw power in 13.

now back on topic how can u make somebody better then a 99 like Stafford is already in 12? Cutlers a 98? u gonna bump him up one and tie him with Stafford?
