lol its about time 2k get a good soundtrack... i mean their soundtrack has been garbage for as long as i can remember live been killin them ... but if most of the songs on their by jay-z than that would be great...

I'm actually on the other side of the fence on that one. Every 2K has had tracks I've quickly axed from my playlist but more times than not I've appreciated their ability to expose me to solid artists and songs I may have otherwise not been exposed to. Further, I liked how they did not isolate themselves to one single musical genre. The pop rap soundtracks of NBA Live meanwhile, has made me want to pull my hair out on numerous occasions. I like some popular rap, but not enough to want an entire soundtrack of it.

i could care less whether they are underground or not... good music is good music and most the music i listen is undergound.. but alot of the songs that has been on 2k imo doesnt fit well with basketball

Well that explains the brooklyn bridge from the durantula, griffin,and rose cover art. The Nets should have plenty hype in 2k13.

I respect your opinion in this case, I just happen to have a different one. I love variation in music and I think nearly any genre can complement basketball when used in the correct fashion. And of course, everyone will have different interpretations of what good music may be. That's kind of why I like 2K's route in the past, they'd offer some pop rap, some underground, some Indie, etc. It gave players an opportunity to find something suitable to what they liked, as opposed to going with one genre and saying, "Good luck! Hope you like it!"

Oh good call. I'll be curious to see how this works out. Will it be a situation like Dan the Automator's a few years ago where he just had a hand in many of the tracks on 2K's game? This will likely be an unpopular opinion, but I'm only lukewarm on Jay-Z as a whole.

Really? I disagree. I love 2k's soundtracks. They've been great as long as I can remember, and i've played 2k8-2k12. I've gotten a lot of great music from them...

Your buggin out man, 2k has had some of the best soundtracks. Especially 2k5.

I enjoy 2k's soundtracks. 2k constantly puts songs I would never bother listening to but I end up enjoying most of the songs.

Agreed. I think that's been a part of their appeal. 2K's done a great job in my opinion of finding solid music that has (for the most part) yet to be overplayed and hyped out. Unfortunately, even for songs I once liked, the appearance of popular songs on soundtracks often leads to a quick burnout for me. For instance, I used to be a fan of Kurtis Blow's "Basketball". But after 2K12, I wouldn't care if I never heard that song again.

I like NBA 2k soundtracks. It does a good job of Incorporating different variations of music for all crowds. Adding Jay-z will only make it better. Alot of the songs I didnt listen too and didnt go with BBALL

Game looks athetically better, but Durant still has T-Rex arms by comparison and Griffin still looks..off. And if I wanna nitpick some more that Rose up and under looked...peculiar.
