I don't think he's being negative, just don't understand the physics not effecting gameplay part. That completely changes the way a game is played.

Now I just need to hear about one more thing, namely, teammate A.I. BFD talks about this alot and I agree. I don't like the fate of the team just to be in my hands. This is a team game and I need my A.I teammates to do and act like the real players do and act. Outside of that this looks like it will hold my attention.

Whoo, and you guys should have seen the connected careers explanation earlier. It seemed pretty interesting.

I'll get happy when they show more vids of the presentation and off the field stuff
You don't understand. Let me paint a single instance that flushes your point of view down the drain.

Madden 12: WR makes a catch animation, the LB goes for it as well, LB bounces off the WR and the WR catches the ball, then rips off 30 yards.

Madden 13: WR makes a catch animation, LB goes for it as well, LB and WR collide and the ball flies out of the WR hands or at the least stumbles to the ground for a 5 yard gain.

Let's not make inaccurate assumptions about what a new physics engine will do. With what they're putting into place, Oline-Dline play in the next year or so will be completely changed forever.

Finally... Madden NFL 13 is going to have real time physics instead of the animation-based engine that the previous 20+ Maddens ran off of.

With real time physics, this means no more players gliding, teleporting, DBs making phantom interceptions, etc. This also means Pass Interference might actually get called this time... maybe. This is awesome.

Yeah, this is probably going to result in me pre-ordering this game tonight. Only if left is will NCAA get this or not.

The BIG question is what will happen once next gen consoles arrive because, we all know what happened the first time it hit next gen?

That is for a different time and thread though....but, yes this is the critical change Madden needed. The fact that the new engine does what is does changes the game completely.

It was worked on with EA Guilford, the folks who brought us the Player Impact Engine for Fifa. Hopefully they can work with Tiburon next game on ball physics!

I wonder if this makes pass interference relevant.

I figure OL/DL and AI will be a major focus for Madden 14, I can deal with that.
You can already go with a very safe bet that OL/DL will be focus next year. I think a lot of guys will come back this year and maybe a few that have held out since Xbox/PS2 will get on board. A lot of guys in my old 2k5 league may finally get a 360 and get on board. We'll see, probably not. Probably have outgrown video games.
