I will not be playing this mode if I get the game. I wish they would spend their time which is limited improving other things.
This mode COULD have been great if they would have added the entire teams from when these guys played. Even if they only did player numbers. At least then I could play Tebow vs Ward and it actually be the teams that surrounded them when they were in action.
I'm going to act out of character for just a moment. Normally I'm hard on EA around this time of year, well I actually start in November/December, but I have to say this.
Do you guys really think this 'wasted' time during this development cycle? In the words of my 4 year old daughter, "Really? Are you kidding me?!" (don't know where she gets that from lol). I'm pretty sure they had a small group come up with this new game mode, which technically would only be the off the field stuff -- where was time wasted? The gameplay group was probably still goin' in.
I don't get how y'all can be mad at that -- I really can't. I'm hoping this mode replaces the mascot game mode -- I'd play the Heisman mode before that one.
What a pathetic useless mode… EA is just pitiful when It comes to these modes etc. Not only do they not have retro facemask to add some kind of authentic feel, what kind of authenticity does the players have that separates them from any other created player? Signature moves, running & throwing animations specific to the player. On top of that this game looks horrible in motion. Just ugly to watch…I’m sure the 10 year olds whose never seen these players before want care much though.
Wow I can't believe the negativity of some of you guys. And that it's allowed by the mods....
Some of you will never be happy, sad sad life.
go back to texags if you want over-modding groupthink, most of the negativity is geared towards the fact that this mod feels tacked on, gimmicky and lacking.
I feel that the Heisman challenge is a feeble attempt to grab casual gamers with a few extremely biased Heisman winner selections and a bullet time re-introduction that doesn't really serve a needed purpose.
This is another mode I won't play. The heads at EA are too busy trying to reinvent the wheel instead of adding AC and power steering. Perfect the actual product. So sick of the fluff.
Unless something drastic comes out here soon, I can confidently say I won't be buying NCAA 12.5 this year.
Being able to play as someone for a different team actually makes me want to play this game less. They need to focus on fixing the actual gameplay rather than obscure modes.

I agree with your point here.....
I will be buying NCAA 13 just because I like the tweaks they usually make every year and its a blast to play.....
Yikes, that looked awful to me. If it didn't have the players names on the screen I would've had trouble recognizing them. If you're going to add specific superstars to game, they really need signature animations so they look and feel more like the real players.
No need to stop in here anymore. On to madden 13 news I guess.
Everything works both ways, there are two sides to every story, yada yada.
If you aren't getting the game that's fine. Let everyone know and move on. (meaning don't tell everyone you aren't getting the game 20 times, you can still talk about it of course.) SAME goes for people who are getting the game. No need to shout from the rooftops over and over. Basically what I am saying is get back on topic, and don't make this a debate over who is getting the game or not. There is a front page poll and thread for that anyway.
Bottom line is: Its ok to get the game. If you like it, that's ok. If you don't like it that is also perfectly fine. You have every right to say why you do or you don't as long as its done constructively. So lets stop the back and forth about talking about who's getting it, and who isn't. Its a non-issue really.
We just all want the game to improve, so lets focus on that.

I'm hoping the gameplay is a lot better but that the marketing heads at EA wanted some "fluff" for commercials and the back of the game case. I can't imagine the developers brainstorming ideas and coming up with this as one of their top ideas.
I don't think the concept is bad per se but the fact that EA won't capture their signature styles makes it useless to me. That was the best thing about the legends in 2K to me, they looked, moved, and felt like themselves.
Like many have said, what's the point in playing with Charlie Ward & Barry Sanders if they feel like everyone else?
Agree on the players lacking their "unique feel". Running with Barry Sanders should be the pinnacle of using the running controls in NCAA 13. This will be create a player via EA. Nothing more, nothing less.
I agree with the majority, very underwhelming mode. It could have been a potentially cool mode if they had done it the right way. I feel things that could have made the mode better are:
1. Allow you to play out the Heisman player's season with his old teammates or something along those lines.
2. How about allowing the player to go on any team in a dynasty? From what I've heard it is a one season deal correct? I also would like the option to take 1 QB, 1 RB, and 1 WR and put them on any team...ala the 2k game from a few years back. I think it would be cool to pair Griffin with Sanders and maybe Howard. Yeah, it would be easy to score and a cheesy dynasty or season but would be fun just for FUN, which is what video games are for of course.
As is though, blah, I might mess with it until rosters come back...MAYBE. Not comparable to NBA 2k in anyway, agree with many others there.
