For the first time in franchise history, familiar faces are now on the field in NCAA Football 13, where fans can build a national powerhouse by placing one of 10 former Heisman Trophy winners on the team of their choice for the upcoming NCAA season. Under center, in the backfield, or split wide, utilize a Legend’s skill set in the quest to win the Heisman Trophy. Video interviews with each Heisman Trophy winner will be unlocked throughout the season, detailing the achievements of their glory days. In addition, fans can truly test themselves by matching their Heisman Legend’s historical performance in one season, which will not only win the Heisman Trophy, but also unlock each player in Road to Glory.

  • ** Tim Tebow – 2007 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Florida
* Available through the NCAA Football 13 demo download.

** Available through NCAA Football 13 pre-order from GameStop.

REACTION TIME

The new Reaction Time feature allows players to experience what it’s like on the field as a true Heisman Trophy-caliber athlete. Reaction Time literally slows down the action, allowing users to look for openings in defenses and perform skill moves to get into the open field, before smoothly transitioning back to regular speed. Gameplay has also been enhanced to include special teams and an updated playcall system.

Discuss.

A couple things I've noticed watching the Heisman Mode gameplay:

-Pac 12 conference logo on the field (should be Pac 10 or whatever the conference was called when Tim Brown (I think) played at Stanford)

-Team ranking should reflect what the team was actually ranked that year, not the ranking EA has the team for the 2012 season

These are only minor details, but they add up. Also, the guy playing absolutely sucks.

So many INTs lol

Not playing as QB and still manages to throw an INT.

AFAIK, the mode isn't setup to replicate history.

Tuned in very late.

Two things: 1) FSU's pants are almost white. 2) Dude rolling WAY left with Charlie Ward, then instantly turning around and throwing to a receiver on the right side of the field and hitting him on a rope between the numbers.

Hopefully it's on super-below-rookie mode.

So if you win the Heisman, you unlock them for Road to Glory -- yay

not.

Okay, my only negative...C-Dub in a Gate uni. Nuh-uh. No bueno.

After watching this I wish I preordered the game.

So I could say I cancelled my preorder.

Did you notice how many INTs he was throwing that way, though? I think that's a good sign.

That was some of the hardest gameplay to watch. The guy playing was absolutely atrocious.

Just would like to see something substantial to back it up that RTG is the most played mode in NCAA because that's a fairly big claim. Every thread and poll I've ever seen (including Facebook) would certainly seem to indicate that Dynasty is the most played mode and that it's not even close.

On the plus side, I thought the animations looked nice in the trailer shown after the webcast.

The ones I saw were only INTs because there was a defender standing directly in front of the receivers. The passes didn't lose any degree of accuracy or velocity from what I could see.

I can't believe I had a preorder for this game a month ago. After this webcast & the other vids, this really looks like the the same game - no joke. The movements, the colors, the gear, the entrances, the menus... There's just nothing that indicates new, exciting, or must have.

Tuned in late, any mention of reaction time for defensive players since they did say it will be in RTG? I imagine it would make a much bigger impact for someone playing as a CB in terms of intercepting or swatting the ball.

I will only play the new heisman feature probably once or twice and never go back to it.

The only people who will consistantly play with these players are gamers who are fans of a team who have a heisman winner in the game.

I would play all day long with George Rogers for South Carolina if they had it but they dont so offline dynasty all day 'er' day.

# 118 Gotmadskillzson @ 05/30/12 04:07 PM
I didn't see any benefit of reaction time what so ever......

I'm obviously not opposed to an "official" declaration.

That said, keep in mind that threads and polls are tools of the people who actually follow the game. There is a HUGE group of consumers who don't follow the game, they pick it up and play it.

I'm intrigued by Heisman Challenge, but not sure they implemented it properly. I will definitely play it to see the variation in gameplay between WR and RB etc. the reason I said that it isn't implemented correctly is because it seems just like RTG with Heisman winners. I will have to see what the challenges are for each position. Can't wait.
