MLB 12 The Show Game Update 1.16 Arrives, Details Included - Post Your Impressions

Another MLB 12 The Show game update arrived this morning, bring it up to version 1.16. Check below for the details and let us know what you are seeing.

Schedules and box score were misaligned for a portion of the games for certain teams.
Occasionally when loading into online games, an empty field (home plate view) would be shown and user has to PS button out.
Analog bunting interface, versus a behind the pitcher view in online games would cause a frequent freeze when the user on offense bunted.

Any advice on Franchise mode to stop freezing. I use Texas in manager mode I manage from the dugout it freezes usually when I'm at bat after a pitch. I downloaded and deleted patch 1.16. It happens during the first game or an inning in to game 2. And advicewould be great. Thanks.

Yea I wish the delete the patch and sim to playoffs thing worked for me lol

Got like 5 games to go in my Braves franchise but it freezes no matter if I have the patch or not lol.

Just glad to get the update tbh I had all but lost hope that my franchise was lost.

I think I've started maybe 7 franchises with different teams over the past week with utter depression that I can't play my Bravos

Was having the same problems. I went into Game Data Utility as well as Saved Data Utility and deleted every MLB file. Reinstalled the game and downloaded both patches and now it plays great for me with no problems. Hope things eventually work out for you

Well if for some reason no fix comes from SCEA I may then resort to deleting everything but only time will tell.

Heck I restored my entire ps3 then downloaded 1.16 and it froze

No. You are right, it wasn't needed. I am guessing its more out of frustration than anything. Which obviously still doesn't make it right.

However, at this point- things are getting a bit ridiculous. Personally, both patches have had negative effects on my franchises(as well as a co-worker in the same boat, and a long time friend who are all expieriencing freezes), and I am still scared to move forth with my RTTS's due to all the negative feedback each patch has received, until I get confirmation that all is 100% cleared up.

The lack of communication up until now, only complicated the matter. Considering when things are going well, and there is a game to be sold- there is no lack of presence from certain team members on the boards.

I have all the faith in the world the problem(s) will be corrected. This is normally a top quality product, from a top quality team.

Like many people, I am extremely frustrated at this point. I have a game that is virtually unplayable as advertised. Each patch has done something to mess up the game(my biggest gripe being the fact I had to scrap a franchise twice due to my saves freezing from loading from the cloud).

Now, the current roster update has screwed around with pitchers repertoirs. Not game breaking, but very annoying nonetheless.

As I said, any negative things being said probably are just due to frustration more than anything. Nobody twisted my arm to buy a Vita, 2 copies off the Show, and about 20.00 worth of RTTS points(I wanted to make one legit guy, and one stud). However, I did invest a lot of money, and while some of it does work, some of it hasn't worked to its optimal performance, or acceptable levels.

I know the problem will be fixed, and we can all move on this. I love what the game brings to the table this year, even though all I have been doing is playing exhibition games recently.

Game 23 into my franchise, I finally experienced the 0.000 bug on the bottom line ticker. Its only when they are displaying the stat leaders, but when the OSD of the leader board displays during gameplay is normal. That is the only thing I have experienced. No freeze issues to this point and I have downloaded both patches..

I finally get through complete game (1st of the season) then in the bottom of the 7th game two (guess what) it froze. I'm gonna try one more time to erase everything and start fresh with no saves and download the newest patch and use the online current roster. If that don't work I'm headed to Walmart to buy MLB2k12.

Well, here's the deal. I decided not to download the last patch. And I'm at the 3rd week of April in my Indians franchise and twice in the middle of the game it asks me to download the patch.

I decided to skip both times. Waited till the game was over, I saved my franchise. Then I said the hell with it, and just downloaded the patch.

Has this ever happened to anyone while in the middle of a game?

I really hope this does not mess with my franchise.

If I went out and bought a PS3 today, along with a copy of The Show, would I have any issues with starting a franchise after downloading the latest patch?

Yes you would still have problems. I have done a complete system restore and didn't download a patch and it froze game 1 of my franchise. Then I erased it all and downloaded 1.16 and it froze again in game one.

I have no problems playing games on both systems. Everything works great. I started everything after the latest patch. Essentially, I'm in the same boat as anybody buying the game and starting now. Except I'm quite a few games up on them.

So any ideas how to get it to work?? Should I delete all reinstall the game, download the newest patch 1.16 then the online roster and play, once again?? Or what.......

You started the franchise then downloaded the patch? That's the cause of your problems. Just start a new franchise with the patch already installed, you don't have to erase anything. Also make sure your disc isn't dirty or anything, because even with the screwy 1.06 patch no one ever had a freeze in the very first game. There's definitely more to this story.

When I first got the game I used Texas I played the schedule and it freezes in the second fame of the Seattle series after I got online and downloaded the first patch. But ill try cleaning the disk and the ps3 then download the patch and start a fresh franchise. Is it ok to use every feature in franchise mode from banking to setting promotions.

I just downloaded the patch started a new franchise and played spring training games. Completed the first one then froze bottom of the 1st game 2

Ugh!!!! I can't even play a game in season mode.... Do I just need to buy a new copy of the game maybe??

Don't buy, just rent it a day and see if problem is the disc

Please tell me im not going to have issues: I deleted all my game saves other than the intall of the cd. I started the game downloaded the patch, and then started a new franchise, am I going to be okay? I forgot to save the Update 1.5 to a thumb drive, the game worked great with that update.
