The gold in the Saints unis looks pretty nice. IMO they've never gotten it quite right before. It always looked a little too muted compared to real life; the pants especially, which have more of a dull/gold, light brownish tint in the game.

They got the Cowboys pants wrong -- unless EA isn't creating unique pants for each team. The Cowboys aren't supposed to have the additional belt padding around the waist as some of the other teams have. The Cowboys also shouldn't have the tracing for the knee and thigh pads.

I kinda feel like JWILL in that I thought we would see the pro-combat style knee pads as the players wore during the unveiling. I wonder if they got them in? That was the coolest part about the new unis to me...

Are those the new or old gloves that Mike Wallace is wearing there it's hard for me to tell?

If the new gloves are in, they need to add in a "glove celebration". The gloves in the picture still look like the old Reebok ones.

Nike just had to mess with the Bears' sleeve strips and sleeve numbers. Why mess with them.

When actually playing the game I guarantee no one out there will be able to tell any recognizable difference between this years and last years uniforms.
I totally agree. Having nice graphics is like putting a suit on a turd. It looks better, but it's still a turd at heart. Hopefully the gameplay isn't like the turd.

Looks like they didn't. All the pants have the old-style pads with the large ripples in them.

I know people are gonna ridicule me for this, but I'm kinda disappointed in the jerseys so far. Here are some of the issues I'm having with the jerseys:
  • Obviously, the "Deflex" pads that are in both the Pro-Combat & Elite-51 uni's by Nike.
  • The swoosh on the sleeves seem too small. It may be a small issue, but it's noticable, to me at least.
  • The sleeves. To me, not only do they not seem like they are the correct length, but the strips are off. They are supposed to connect right into the seam of the jersey, and they don't actaully wrap around the sleeve itself.

One thing on the sleeves: In Madden, the options we currently have as far as sleeves are concerned are standard (see: Steelers jersey), and sleeveless. But, the standard sleeve in Madden seems to be longer than a standard sleeve on the real jerseys.

Not only that, but it seems like most of the players modeled in the Nike ads for the jersey seem to be wearing sleeveless unis.

I don't know if Nike even makes jerseys with the same standard sleeve length as Reebok's jerseys; I know they don't make any loose sleeves (which is gonna be interesting for the QB's, P's & k's that wear them). It looks like EA Tiburon is using the Reebok jersey template and just switching a few of the seams around...

EDIT: Actually, I see Big Ben wearing a loose sleeve jersey in the back...

I think the player pics are from an old build you can see in the pic next to Urlacher the Bears jersey has the numbers and it also looks like they lack polish and realism that im almost sure madden will have

Apparently I need to repeat this in every thread. Conversation should be on the uniforms and how they look etc. Not about other aspect of the game.

As always consider this a friendly warning.

I read this in Dr. Doofenshmirtz's voice...

If this is true, which I got directly from the official Madden 13 site, then these must be from Madden 12 with the new uniforms on them.

"Madden NFL 13 is all-new from boot up to credits. Every mode, every screen, every pixel has been reinvented delivering the most innovative, connected, and authentic Madden NFL experience in franchise history."

Fair enough. I'll use the pics from the mannequins, lol...

None of the equipment looks updated. Gloves or cleats.

Well unfortunately, that has it's problems as well, mainly because of the terrible lighting. The lighting distorts the colors and the mannequins aren't optimal when it comes to viewing the "stretch" of the material. Also I read many of the pant designs on the showroom floor were not 100% correct as to what teams will be using.

That being said, if you just looking to compare stripes/logos/numbers, these pics should work out good enough.

I was going to say the same thing...

Do the pants matter in the grand scheme of things? Not so much. But if the idea is that much time was spent tightening up the Nike unis, I'd think all the details would be in-tact. It's a different story, however, if they don't have the capability to have the teams wear different style pants.

Still no tatts...

# 20 DUDERMAN @ 04/06/12 08:12 PM
A) are tattoos really that important?

and more importantly...

B) When will people understand that it's the NFL that doesn't want tattoos shown, not EA?
