It doesn't really say much. Actually, with all of the work they are trying to put into the Vita, I guess I am the only one who feels they probably couldn't dedicate to a full development cycle. As we approach 3 months out, I'm just thinking it is better to lower the expectations so that we don't have this forum blowing up with "why didn't they do this" threads and posts.

This is what we call a marketing fail:

Features: "Heighten your experience on the diamond as you swing into the latest addition to the revolutionary franchise that delivered the highest-rated sports video game four years in a row"

The game itself is a feature? I guess they've earned that reputation? lol

I have to agree with you on this.

All that marketing could just as well been for MLB 11 The Show. There is nothing new there as far as I can see.

If anyone here can point out anything that is not already in MLB 11 The Show I would like to see it.

It's just another gimmick they are trying to peddle off on us. If this is all they have to offer I'm sitting this one out. I can wait a year.

I was really hoping to see a playoff mode. I was hoping to see real weather, and what I mean is weather that actually affects the games and your lineup decisons like rainouts, double-headers and rain delays.

I also want to see better crowd reactions. I want to feel the playoff atmosphere when I'm playing a playoff game. Every game seems the same. The crowd rarely changes. If my team sucks I want to see half-empty stadiums. Baseball video games in the 90's had crowds like this where the announcer would make comments about how empty the stadiums were. It wouldn't be hard to implement if they could make it happen on the Playstation 1.

The Show is a great came but I've been patient the past few years. I'm tired of the glorified roster updates. Show me something new or I will be buying this game every 2 years.

I would never ever call the Sony developers lazy!!!

They work there you know what off 24/7 to make us the best baseball game they possibly can.

Just because they might not add a feature you, I or anyone else may be wishing for does not mean they are just a bunch of lazy developers!

First the info on Best Buy's site did not come from us. As for your other comment.

Guys, DO NOT insult the developers. I can assure this will not fly here. There's a bunch of stuff I want in the game that won't be there. If I can express that opinion without insults , so can you.

I'd like to add , how was last year's game a glorified roster update? They completely re-did the fielding ratings; the fielding itself, gave us brand new player models, and complete analog control...and revamped how RTTS was done. That's just some of what was added.

What were you hoping for , though, man? I listed several new and very time consuming features they implemented last year.

I mean in the end, the game is still baseball. They can't add new AI awareness for 3rd and short, lol.

They need to spend time on what actually affects the game. Like mentioned before.........where is the weather that has been done extremely well in the past by other games? I have the move and it sucks! Why continue to waste time on it when so many other important improvements could use their attention?

1) Commentary is horrible. It is time for new dynamic commentary that sounds like they are together instead of sounding like they are in two different countries.
2) Add working weather that impacts the game.
3) Crowds need improved.
4) Playoffs need improved.

They are already working on better collision detection and ball physics so that makes me happy. The rest seems like a few upgrades or tweaks at best. Nothing stands out by any of the PR news as of late that says I need to go out and buy MLB 12 when I have MLB 11 that I can stick with for another year.

Actually, everything you mentioned EXCEPT the weather has ZERO effect on the game.
The weather in the game, actually does effect the game to some extent.

P.S.
(here's secretly hoping that some of the promises made here on O.S. are actually kept!!! ...but I doubt it...much like they weren't kept from '10 to '11 )

What promises didn't they keep? Lol. This must be a joke. I'll be honest I thought fielding would be even better , but theyve never over promised.

I mean promises that some POSTERS made.....

I'll give you a hint...it usually starts like this...

Why are people jumping the gun on saying stupid crap about them not adding new features? They have barely even said whats in the game yet, so all of the new features have not even been talked about. People just get too up tight over crap like this. It's a little over 2 months till release. They have a crap load of time to talk about the other additions they've made to the game.

It's already been stated that all of the information released so far is just minor things that have been done to the game. People just need to relax and just wait until SCEA has officially announced everything that is going to be in 12. I absolutely cannot wait for more information on 12. I'm more excited for 12 then I was for 11. I'm not sure why, but I am. I just think that 12 has so much potential to take this series yet another step forward.

Exactly, just wait for the fact sheet.

If you do decide to skip the game - please stay out of the forum and refrain from posting. I'm sure those who are actually interested in the game would be appreciative.

I did enjoy 09 alot but with 10 and 11 I didnt feel like they improved anything. The commentary has to either change or get a entire new cast cause its just getting stale. The franchise is starting to get stale as well. I could care less about the move intergration cause i feel its stupid and overrated. I will most likely get 12 anyway but im done paying $60 for just roster upgrades.

I don't understand this claim. Did you see where I mentioned several distinct things they improved? After playing 11, there's NO WAY I could go back to any previous version. I just don't get it. There is room for more variety (I understand thinking it's stale-parts are), but to say it's a roster update is just wrong to me.

LOL why are people pay attention to a Best Buy ad anyway. Most of the stuff that was already confirmed isnt even on that list. People questioning the devs work ethic and what not is crazy. They added so much this year ( playerr collision, new pitch system, more umps with new personalities, more animations, presentation, etc..) People just love jumping the gun smh. Wait until ALL the info is out before you freak out.
