I think we may have to chalk it up to a "pick your poison" type of situation. Do we want GMs to wheel and deal like they do in the NBA, but risk guys like Carmelo and Derrick being traded? Or, do we want GMs to maybe be unrealistically good at managing their teams' emotions and handling them in general, causing better trades and roster moves, but less of them overall?
But that's the thing. I never saw Superstar players getting traded. All superstar team movement was done through free agency.
The trades that were being made did make sense and we had a realistic amount. They dropped the ball on this one when it was FINE. The only thing they needed to edit were the My Player trades.
Yeah you would see a trade or two in Association that didn't make sense but I could look past that with ease with the good amount of realistic trades we did see.
But I found a solution, turned off player roles and there was 6 total trades so it's not a bunch more but better than before. I am not fond of the low trades but for me quality vs quantity and I much rather see quality trades over a bunch of trades that are just out of wack
I realllllly loved the way the 3 pt shooting was last year. I don't know why it got changed, but it was so smooth. Now if you have an inch of space its going in no matter what. I absolutely hate it.
Have there been any random misses? You know, the type where you leave Kobe or LeBron open, and they just miss, and you do a "phew"?
yeah...even good shooters will miss open shots here and there...it's awesome. no more perfect shooters. CPU feels more human. feels like 2k11 again...which is good. 2k11's shot success just made sense and this feels similar.
So I just finished my second game and this one was frustrating, neither of which had to do with player skill. It was a total fluke game so I'm sure the stats will still be encouraging to see even though I lost by 8 (was 5, he hit a wide open buzzer beater with Durant). I can't even tell you how frustrating it feels to pause the game with 3 minutes left in the second quarter of a [b]five minute game[/i] and find a box score that reads Offensive Rebounds: 9. That's right, NINE! Ugh, I can't even describe it, this guy was the Thunder and had the typical "never pass the ball, drive to the bottom of the screen, crossover, try to drive, take contested jumper". He diversified after I totally cut him off, but the thing was, I was totally cutting him off ANYWAY. At the end of the half Durant was 2/8 and Westbrook was 3/15!
In other words, great game besides the fact this guy was one of those guys that always drives to the bottom of the screen, and wins when he gets LUCKY. AS. HELL.
I just played one My Player game on Allstar/Sim, which I usually play. The first thing I noticed is I didn't have to re-select my signature Jordan shoes to get my attribute bonus, which was nice. Anyway, gameplay stuff:
In older posts I've said that the passing game last year was bad(due to the passing d) and this year was worse. In one game, I think the passing is now better than the last two years. There are no longer any super-long delays nor defenders that go into their steal animation as soon as you press pass. I even think that more appropriate pass animations were chosen when you pass in the paint. I ran bunch of pick and rolls to test it, and if you pass in that split second window that the guy is open while taking into account the fraction of a second that your pass animation will take to complete, you'll get it to him. No defenders flew in like Superman and snatched it away. There is no lead pass speed boosts, so it ain't too easy or cheesy. Passes on the break were quicker in the air, and got where you want them to if you take into account the small pass animation time. I think some passes could pop more, and hand offs still need some polish, but I'm very satisfied with it now.
Their were no floaty delays on block attempts and there were less ticky-tack fouls called on them. I was able to get out on an open AK47 and block his three attempt. How often did that happen before?
Basic movement felt a bit better(less mystery delays), and my first step was quicker in general. I was able to blow by Pau and score on him, as I should. Drives were still defendable by perimeter players, appropriately.
People still did up and unders, but there were blockable due to their being less delays on blocks. The ones who scored with it were Kobe and some inside players, which is appropriate.
End-of-shot-clock jumpers that were defended closely didn't go in *fist-pump*. Also, the notorious computer runs in the 3rd and 4th could be defended better since they made less jumpers with people in their face.
I like that when I got fouled during two dunk attempts I missed the dunks when I would usually slam them in. I don't know if this is the patch or just happened.
That glitch when you can't inbound the ball wasn't there, but this was only one game so I don't know if it is fixed fully. There was still that one glitch where if the commenters were talking about a statistic when you were shooting free throws you'd have to wait until they finished to shoot it, but that is only a minor annoyance.
It was appropriately challenging, and when the cpu scored it felt like 'well played' and not 'thats cheap'. I only played one game, so I have yet to really gauge the patch, but from what I see I like it. I like it a lot.
contesting jump shots is better too - block animations are better and more responsive. i just blocked a 3 point attempt which was near impossible pre-patch due to the animation being delayed or just a weird block animation.
Your just a *****, nothing more, nothing less. You play one game hit a 3 with rondo and come screaming online as if it's a foundation in the game. Why don't you play alittle more instead of freaking out so quickly.
having so much fun with this game, it's as if it's a whole new game. The only thing bothering me is the 3's still. Maybe Knicks fans can enlighten me, but Tony Douglas should not be lighthing me up from 3 point land like this. I will say the cpu ball movement is beautiful and he's getting good looks, but still....I'll have to play more and see whats up.
On a side note, why did 2k remove the KINGS new black alternates jerseys????
If this is true and works with continuity you might have just saved this game for me.
Results are in, year one had 7 trades, year 2 had 3 trades, year 3 had 1 trade. Unfortunately it does plummet after year one but this was only after one attempt at doing 3 years. I thought I was onto something lol but guess not.
finished my game on hall of fame...lost by 9...it was competitive, but not cheesy...cpu made some cheese shots in the 4th, but i had clutch factor turned on so that was probably why.
