I feel like I just wasted 800 points for nothing! I hate this cell shaded graphics! Never again 2K! Never again will you trick me into something like this.

Can you play online with the legend teams?

Can you elaborate on this please? I haven't found any options to do so.

And whoever asked about cell-shading, I have found no option to turn it off in Legends Showcase.

Anyone else annoyed by the cameras available in the mode, too? Times Square seems a little...off to me.

I just came in here to ask the same question...I don't see that option anywhere...

So far I only played the 2on2 and it's a nice distraction from the main game. You are now able to release the generics from the classic teams! Unfortunately playing quick games the three point line is present and it doesn't have the old school rules. I was hoping that we can at least play old school games with the old school rules....guess that's only locked in the Legends game....which is stupid IMO...

After coming out of Legends Showcase, it completely screwed up my roster (which was ok since I had a backup). The free agents were gone, and there were duplicates of so many players. Also the new legend players were on their own team of one. (i.e. Rick Barry on a separate Golden State team) I THINK the duplicates represent the current players that can be used on the DLC once unlocked for HORSE, 21, etc. I was able to trade Barry with a a random player from a current team and played with him in quick match. However, if I tried to play with lets say the Buffalo Braves, it would lock up. Same with trying to put them in season mode.

IF, all this glitchy stuff gets figured out there is enough potential for this to be worth 10 bucks for roster makers, as it has so many more team slots and some classic team names such as the bullets, however, I bet the glitches will win the battle…lol

Well that's good news, I was under the impression we couldn't use the new legends in game!

The cell shading is severely affecting the graphics of my game. Everyone has a white glean to them now outside of legends showcase.

Update: Well, yeah you can use them, but even whenI tried to scroll through the teams in team selection, it freezes up. So its starting to look like, the glitches are going to outweigh the ability to use the players. Of course, if you load up a fresh roster you can in fact trade release the generics and edit classic teams. But you could do that last year. I am sure work arounds will be figured out, but really we shouldn't have to...

I AM NOT IMPRESSED with cel-shaded gameplay. The players all look the same. and so far I have yet to find where you can turn it off.

Who was the genius that came up with the cell shade idea at 2K? They need to have a sit down with that person and tell them never to come up with something like that ever again.

Speaking strictly toward the Legends Showcase game mode itself, it generally feels like Street mode from past 2K's.

1. The music is about as annoying as one would assume it to be (it can be turned down by adjusting the PA Volume in presentation).

2. The announcer sounds like. . .well. . .a Stuart Scott wannabe, and Stuart Scott is a wannabe himself, so you're dealing with a double wannabe situation. After hitting a mid-range J, he exclaimed "Droppin' the deuce!" with no sense of irony in his voice.

3. Initially, it was tough to adjust to the black basketball court combined with the cell shading. But after about ten minutes of game time, things felt normal.

4. In the 3-on-3 Era Challenge, I left my game paused after I won the first two games because I was afraid backing out would lose any progress I made. It seems to move from one game to the next without saving. Anyone know if this is the case?

5. There's a late action replay after nearly every play in the half court games because nearly every play is a somewhat exciting finish at the rim (dunk or neat layup). I haven't seen an option to turn these action replays off. Further, camera wipes between plays are unavoidable and while it may seem small, the lack of continuity is actually quite an annoyance.

6. There's no replay option aside from a "Director's Cut" replay on spectacular moves. Therefore, there's no way to save plays or screenshots and upload them to YouTube or otherwise (through the game). It would have been nice to show you guys some of the new legends this way.

7. Speaking of the new legends, they're pretty well done. They more or less have their accurate accessories. Even Gheorghe Muresan is rocking two blue knee sleeves.

8. I used '90 Ricky Pierce in my first pick-up game. Instead of wearing the early 90's Sonics jerseys, he was wearing a slightly tinted 1996 NBA Finals Sonics jersey. For those coming from the 90's, you may understand this looks quite out of place on Mr. Pierce. I also can't recall if '92 Hersey Hawkins was wearing the correct Sixers jersey. I'd have to double check, but I feel like he was wearing a late '80's look. Not sure on that one though. The Pierce one, I'm sure. Sometimes it was hard to get a good look because again, no replays.

9. There are new dribbling moves. Sleepy Floyd and Kenny Anderson both showcased some fun street maneuvers. I think there may be some new dunks as well. When Steve Nash snagged a rebound, Elgin Baylor jumped over him spread eagle (clearing him), just a little late to the scene for a tip dunk (he grabbed the rim anyway).

10. Looking for access to more modern classics, such as '01 Vince Carter and '03 Ben Wallace. I'm assuming they open up the higher I go on the Era Challenge.

11. My new LeBron shoes are also glitching out. This was happening before the Legends Showcase became available. I was prompted of their unlocking around 11pm last night. The shoe is a silhouette and when I try to give them to a player, the player's shoes become stuck on whatever shoe they were switched to prior to going to the new LeBrons.

12. It's nice to see some of the new retro jerseys. The '93 Suns jerseys are well done and the 90's Nets uniforms are there (Drazen and Kenny). I forgot which year the Nets went tie-dye (I thought '93) but they are not included here.

If you back out of 2v2 or 3v3 challenges, there's an option for new game or to resume your previous game. I don't think it saves mid-game, just after you finish.

Something else that is a minor disappointment: your MP has a generic 2K jersey when used in legends showcase. Lame.

I don't know...I started an NBA today game and it looked like that, returned to the main menu, still no change, started legends showcase, backed out, still nothing.

Restarted the game, still ghostface. Finally, I entered my player and exited and it fixed it.

Yes, there is an option in "Online" for classic head-to-head. You cannot take classic teams against current teams, however.

so how do i take someone like say ricky price and put him on a team such as the current bulls team??? and am i then able to use that team in associaton or season mode?? if someone could help i would appreciate it. thinking about buying it today

# 36 bigball12 @ 11/29/11 11:53 AM
They do not have online Team-up for these teams correct? Will someone try creating a private team-up game, and checking if the classic teams are available to be chosen? Thanks!

Can all the players be hexed from the dlc to the real game?

I just watched my friend play around in the legends showcase and I definitely will not be getting this.

Making this cell-shaded was the worst idea I have ever seen in a 2k game. I knew I wasnt going to like this but after seeing it in person made me want to just turn the tv off. Feels like im watching a ps2 game. And there was no way to turn it off. My friend was heated because he didnt know it would look like that but I told him thats what happens when you do research something before you buy it.

This to me is nothing but a glorified blacktop mode. The added legends is nice and all but I just dont like the streetball setting. There are some streetball moves but this mode is nothing but nba streets without so many over the top moves.

BUT I do so potential in this mode in future years. Take out the cell-shading most importantly. At least have a gym or other courts to play at, and maybe make it kind of like nba jam where you have a couple different players to choose from with classic teams instead of classic players then this mode will be a must buy
