I have only watched my friend play the 3v3 and didnt have time to stay and watch him go through anything else.

I'm confused a bit too... MrClutch: do u mean in the answer to my first question that FULL LEGEND TEAMS are in single game mode only with friends? Real arenas? No cell shading?

This...I actually got lucky to play my friend we would just connect and hope for the best. I would also like to have an option to play different quarter lengths.

DLC way too hard. It's like playing against a cheeser AND the unstoppable end-of-game AI at the same time. Steals by the AI out the arse. Open 3pts by Larry Bird missing. Controlled players jumping the wrong way for blocks on the regular.

Graphics aren't a problem in 2K camera view, though. Wish we didn't have to unlock the stuff we have to unlock.

Wow the AI is no joke. They mean buisness... They're not playing any games this time. They make every open shot almost 100% of the time and play mad D. And when they do miss, they get the offensive rebound and makes the shot. They pass to the right person at the right time. No matter how much D I play, it doesn't matter at all what so ever. They sure made this **** challenging.

My impressions of the DLC:

I love it. Having every past or present NBA player that you would actually want to use, all available in the one place for selection in a Pickup game, is just pure awesomeness. The 2 on 2 and 3 on 3 challenges were definitely fun and, um, challenging. Watching each challenger come onto the stage before each game was kind of WWE-ish to me. There was always the "ooh, who's next?" feeling. In each of those modes, I used the Ewing/Starks duo and the Ewing/Thomas/Bird trio, respectively.

My only gripes are:

- Not being able to turn off the cel-shading. It's not terrible, and I admit that I initially thought it was a cool idea, and I also knew from the beginning that this was a design choice... but after actually playing, I couldn't really see how it was meant to enhance the experience. I would have understood the cel-shading design choice better, if perhaps the gameplay was more over the top and if the player models and animations were more exaggerated, like maybe caricature-style.

- All the new players are not automatically available for selection in "Create New Team" in the main game (whether you complete the 3 on 3 challenge or not). When my mates and I get together for gaming nights, we like to create our own "custom all star" teams using Create New Team, but at the moment, you can only select players from current team rosters or free agents. It would be nice if the new guys from the DLC were available to select as well. You could say, "If you want to use the new guys plus current NBA stars in a 5 on 5 game, then just play a Pickup game"... but then we are limited to the gameplay and graphics options within the Legends Showcase mode (i.e. no fouls, no subs, no free throws, etc).

- The HORSE gameplay was kinda boring. On one hand, the different types of shots are fun to watch, but on the other hand, when the controller motions are exactly the same for every single shot, then the gameplay can get old fast.

- Not really a gripe, but, I was kind of surprised that, in order to use a particular player from the NBA Greatest mode in Create A Legend, not only do you have to win the 2 on 2 challenge, but you also have to win the NBA Greatest game in which the player you want to use is playing in. I wasn't expecting that second requirement, I thought you could just win the 2 on 2 and then everyone is unlocked.

I haven't tried 21 yet (probably not much to say anyway), and I have no comment about online, as I don't play online.

Overall, the good outweighs the bad, and I think it's worth the 10 bux/800 points.

I had a quick question. So are players like, prime McGady, Carter and Ben Wallace available and part of the DLC? If so, how do I find them?

download them from 2k share...no way i would feel like unlocking all these guys

Just to clarify: the current NBA players in their prime years are only available in the Legends Showcase, as is the same with the Legendary characters. Once unlocked, they can be used only in the Legends Showcase DLC.

That is, unless you download the files from 2K Share where they have been imported into the main game via exploit.

I believe this was asked before but how do you save your progress in the 2 on 2 and 3 on 3 challenges?

It saves automatically after each game you play. The when you select that game mode (2v2 or 3v3) the next time you enter the Legends Showcase, you're given the option to either start New or Resume the previous progress you've made.

There is nothing much better that re-creating fantasy match ups like the 95-96 Bulls vs. 97-98 Lakers. I played a guy online who selected the Bulls, so my immediate reaction was to have a historic duel with Kobe. It turned into the Michael/Kobe show soon there after with each of us attacking, isolating, picking up full court on D, etc. Great game with no lag. Bulls won 65-55 with MJ getting 28-4-4 on 9/16 with 8/8 FTs. Kobe had 33 on 13/29 with 5/5 FT and 5 blocks. The Jordan fadeaway is so unstoppable, even with Kobe's athleticism trying to guard it.

Other match ups that were fun:

70-71 Hawks vs. 71-72 Lakers - lakers trying to lock down the wiry Maravich while the Hawks try to contain one of the best teams ever. As the Hawks, I run an uptempo offense and lost by 7. Pistol had 36.

90-91 Warriors vs. 95-96 Sonics - As the Warriors, Mullin hit 7 3's to keep me in the game but The Glove and The Reignman were too much for me. Lost by a few, but it was a good game. No cheese or lag. Timmy seems so tiny, it is hard for him to guard anyone.

This is worth it. Only complaint is that theres no Barkley, Miller, and Iverson

I decided to try the DLC and it is actually pretty fun; a nice departure from the regular game. Cell shading doesn't look good necessarily, but isn't terrible. At least you can turn off the music. Commentator is the same guy who did the voice for the NBA insider... Some things could have been better but worth the 10 bucks I say.

No Prime Jermaine Oneal? Weird...

I read a lot of the comments in this thread before purchasing. I held off for a few days and read some newer comments who didn't mind it. Needless to say I purchased the DLC due to how different the game is to the regular "sim" style of 2K.

I'm no master at 2K. I play 2K for fun. Playing the DLC is different, no question. I've only played some of the 2 on 2 and 3 on 3 modes at the moment.

It actually reminds me of the old NBA Jam in the Arcades, for those who remember. NBA Jam (I thought) was tough. Derek Harper and Mike Iuzzolino (yeah, who?) were your first (and worst) opponent. They were no slouches, they punished you to the point where you thought the game was heavily weighted to the CPU. I sometimes play NBA Jam on MAME and still think the game is rigged!

The (2v2 and 3v3) DLC plays similar to NBA Jam. The CPU will punish you if you leave them open and use a good array of iso-motion to get by you if you over-play, etc.

It will take you a few tries to get used to the arcade style of play -- it's frustrating at first -- but like anything, as soon as you find a weakness in your opponent, exploit it and you should be winning games in no time.

I actually like the cell-shaded graphics. For $10, it's worth it if you want something different and don't need your 2K to take itself seriously.

The game freezes up. Pick up game, 5v5, player vs. player. Freezes after a foul. Player that gets fouled goes 2 the free throw line & after that you can't move. It's no free throws in a pick-up game!?!
