NCAA Football 12 News Post

NCAA Football 12 title update #4 details have been revealed and will be available on November 8th.

Hey Everyone, Ben Haumiller here with the announcement that Title Update #4 is targeted to be available on Tuesday, November 8th. Here are the details on what's included in Title Update #4:

Online Desync fix

We've fixed a desync that was occurring when performing pre-play adjustments from the 3-4 Under defensive formation.

Road to Glory

We've fixed an issue with the playcalling AI where running plays were called too often in situations where a passing play should be called. This was most noticeable when trailing late in a game with a running back RTG character.

Online Dynasty – Transfer Failed

There are a few different issues that are causing Transfer Failed notifications in Online Dynasties. The majority of people ran into this error when attempting to upload data (i.e. game result, recruiting info, etc.). The fix for this issue involved more than we could do on the server side alone, and that fix is included in this Title Update. There will also be a server deployment necessary to complete the fix for these Transfer Failed issues. At this time, it looks like that server deployment will happen shortly after the Title Update is available. Once we know the exact date of the deployment we will be sure to pass the info along.

As for the remaining Transfer Failed issues, we are continuing to investigate server side fixes for these issues.

This concludes what will be included in Title Update #4. Due to additional gameplay risk involved to fix issues related to prospect tendencies in Dynasty mode, we’ve decided to forego addressing via a Title Update. To provide a little background on the tendencies issue, there are some portions of the game that convert a value to get the correct tendency, while other portions do not make this conversion. We were able to fix the tendency issue in the portions of the game that do the conversions through the Title Update, however fixing the other instances would require modification of database data, stored procedures, and code. Rather than risk the potential for this fix to cause other major data issues in Dynasty mode, the decision has been made to apply the proper fix in NCAA Football 13. Thank you for all of your support throughout the year.

UNBELIEVABLE. so they asked us to wait for the fourth title patch....and then did nothing to fix the offline issues. Venting here doesn't even help, because they obviously do not care about their customer and their customer issues. Taking it back now to collect my 20 dollars or so....what a complete rip off!

If anyone gets the class action suit rolling.....count me in!

Trust me, after the number they did on Fight Night with their patches and Looney Tuners, you are going to be happy they left NCAA 2012 alone if you are still able to tolerate this game. These are game makers and not sports fans regardless of whatever line they try to sell us.

You all know EA sports doesn't deserve your $60 for NCAA 2013. Be strong lads and hold the line.

One last comment.... Shame on all of the media outlets who have given this game glowing reviews...(sorry OS even 8.5 is high given the problems with the game)

Time to do the consumer a solid and give real life reviews AFTER you have played the game a while and can identify these horrendous bugs. And yes, shame on us for going out and buying into the hype and picking this up at launch....

Trading this in today.

they had about 3 or 4 tuner updates last year I believe. basically one for every patch. it does suck that they only had one so far for NCAA 12 though.

One so far? From what I saw I think theyre done with 12 moving on leaving the bug infestation alone.

No they only had one tuner last year for their second patch. Every patch after that it was just a patch by itself.

Even for me the offline dynasty has gotten dull and boring for a few years now. Its always the same thing year after year. There is not much life before the game. Just get the top stories, a few things about the top ten teams but rarely ever talks about rising teams.

Wont bring back the fcs teams to make bringing up sub par teams to the elite teams. Or updating rosters to be at 85 instead of 70 as it has for years when it should be a full roster.

Same gameplay problems its had for years and continue to bandage over. Presentation thats pitiful and stadium noise that you cant tell whether its a big or small stadium. Note that this is stuff year after year they claimed to have fixed.

I would link you to a blog that listed Patch #3 and tuner #3 details, however EA took it down once NCAA 12 released. I also remember download multiple tuners as well. FWIW, here is the OS thread about it:

http://www.operationsports.com/forum...-here-ps3.html

and then the thread on the 4th tuner pack:
http://www.operationsports.com/forum...-pack-4-a.html

If your going by the number of tuner save files, it always overwrote the older one, so it always looked like you only had 1.

Wow...just...wow. This really is a bad year for ncaa. No gameplay fixes, custom playpook fixes, dynasty fixes, and maybe a penalty tuner or two? This was it fellas...trading this game in. It isnt garbage by any means if your just playing a onsie and twosie game every now and then, but for a dynasty and gameplay junkie this game is no beuno. Unfortunate too. Well, more time for BF2/MW/and MLB2k11...although I am tempted on black friday to pick up a PS3 for the show...I miss that game sorely. Dont know how good you have it until you dont anymore.

PS...just as a business side note: Just because you went to FSU and was a hitting dummy 10 years ago doesnt make you "knowledgeable" on the game of football. Yes I mean YOU BEN H! The waterboy was just a movie, nothing more! Ben needs to be replaced with someone who listens to the fans (the real ones anyways) A football game with no real penalties/special teams/or real CPU playcalling strategy is bunk and he knows it.

So I guess corners will continue to stand like statues in cover 3 or cover 4 when option is run their direction! Awesome! This year was the first year I didn't buy NCAA on launch day. Next year it may be a full month before I buy it.

I think I'm opting out of the remainder of this generation. When EA finally, finally creates a new football engine I'll start to look back into it.

Yup. I've got big problems with the series right now and no confidence they'll get fixed anytime soon. As much as I'm pissed that they didn't fix option defense, custom playbooks, and tendencies (AT LEAST), I am sorta glad that they didn't give themselves an opportunity to glitch anything else up for 12.

12 is a mess but it'll hold up for my football fix - I'm not paying $60 for glitch fixes for this year's edition. See ya next gen.

So just to clarify:

The issue is with recruits only. And their tendency changes when they are edited.

Does it change from correct to incorrect tendency?
Or incorrect to correct tendency?

Extremely pissed about no fix for the tendencies. More than likely I'll skip out on 13 all together. Definitely not getting it new, maybe used.

LOL, see ya back here next year with same statement, different year. Possibly under a new "rookie" name to save face!

I'm glad I was able to tune NCAA 12 into a well-playing game with sliders, because I'll be sticking with it for another 1-2 years. No way am I buying NCAA 13 on release, not after all the disasters we sat through this year.

Maybe after this year EA will see just how much they screwed up when they dont get as much as they think they would.
