I don't understand why practically everyone seems to have gotten worse, but they boosted Lebron up to 98. The guy has in A- in Out.

And damn, Boozer took a big hit.

Raptors whole starting lineup is under 70.

2k will never have accurate player ratings. i always d/l rosters then edit them.

# 4 yungsta404 @ 09/27/11 01:37 AM
2k must of changed the rating system or something cause I saw some good players who had an undeserved downgrade

you shouldn't make a habit of assuming overall rating is the sole determining factor of a player's ability.

You'll notice that if you take someone rated very highly, say Kobe, and lower his Offensive and Defensive awareness to that of your average rookie or young player, his overall rating drops considerably despite the fact that his shooting is all high 70's to low 90's, despite the fact that his athletics and defensive abilities are also quite high.

Or say you have a PF who's amazing in everything except what PF's are supposed to be good at, his overall rating will be lower than someone who is an amazing rebounder and brilliant low post defender. See : Chris Bosh v Dennis Rodman. Q.E.D

In the case of Danillo, a 67 seems about right so long as VC/2k has given him the shooting credit he deserves. Danillo is still a fairly young player who's understanding of the way the NBA game is still developing. Plus, he plays frail, kind of like Bargnani(Sp?) and should be a much better rebounder for someone his size in his position.

Maybe Chandler is slightly overrated, but realise that he's a more fundamentally sound player than most and his understanding of the game is pretty good. Also, the things he is very good at are applicable to the position he plays. Hence the 80 overall.

Overall is almost meaningless, you shouldn't feel like you have to make Danillo a 75+ if 2k has paid attention to his strengths. And if you do so, you'll probably end up making him a better player than he actually is for the sake of him appearing to be Chandler's equal on paper, which he probably isn't.

we all know Kobe is 94 overall LeBron is 98 which Is probably fair once you objectively look at their ability ratings. Kobe will still have better ratings in the area's he's proficient in, in comparison to James. Bron probably has that 4 point edge because the things he's strong in are mathematically applicable to the SF position in NBA 2K12. That doesn't necessarily suggest he's that much better than Kobe, if at all.

PS. please don't turn this into a Bron v Kobe thread....please.

Boozer deserved a drop off. He had a star under his name in 2k11 which was too much, but a 77 is kinda low, a 80 would be right IMO

Marc Gasol a 73 smh, still can't get over that

Roster editors will have a lot of work to do I see

Yea a 80 would be good for Boozer and Deng, I just saw Deng only has a B- Perimeter defense which probably means he's still a mediocre defender smh. 2K needs a new rating guy.

Booz was a big disappointment this passed season for the Bulls, especially knowing what he is capable of doing, 77 is fair enough.

# 9 Kingofthecouch @ 09/27/11 01:49 AM
Looks like its all about the superstars this year.

# 10 Cripterion @ 09/27/11 01:50 AM
Every year people complain about the ratings, it's just the norm. Personally I don't care, I could have fun with any team in 2K11 despite the ratings of some players.

I can see how Dirk getting 99 in medium shot might be upsetting though cause you know some people will be making cheese fondue off his crazy jumpshot.

Why don't they make Deng a better defender

I don't know, like I said, the ratings guy has always been terrible IMO.

Ricky Rubio is as good as Gallinari,Tony Allen, and Demar Derozan.

Damn, didn't even notice the b- perimeter d...smh that's wayyyyy to low. And yeah Marc Gasol's 7 rebs per game last season probably had a lot to do with that 73 rating.

yeah well Bogut from Bucks is a 78, so I would think Boozer is just fine at that spot. Bosh is an 80. I think all the centers took a good hit on what it takes to have a good overall.

WTF Dirk a 85 2k thats messed up at least a 88-90 he put on a show in the season and playoffs

# 17 SambFTW! @ 09/27/11 02:09 AM
i don't understand the overall ratings debate. i could see if 2k said the overall ratings were based off comparison to other players, but its not, right? now, attribute ratings debate i understand.

A player shouldn't be penalized for playing alongside the Round Mound of Rebound 2.0, Zach Randolph. Besides, he averaged 15 and 11 (12 against the Spurs, 10 in the 2nd round) in the playoffs.

He has a 99 in mid range so I'm sure he'll be playing WELL above an 85 overall

# 20 SouthBeach @ 09/27/11 02:17 AM
People need to understand that a player being rated low doesn't necessarily mean they suck in the game.

If you know how a certain player plays (knowing their strengths, tendencies, and weaknesses), you can make someone play above their rating.
