NBA 2K12 News Post

NBA 2K11 was in my console for most of the sports gaming season. I’ve probably logged more hours with it than all other sports games combined. While it had its share of issues, the game was fun and for the most part, played a realistic game of basketball. I had high hopes, as I took flight to Novato, Calif., to take a look at NBA 2K12. Did I come away impressed? Read on and find out.

hmmm.....this caught my attention....

"You can retire at any point in your career. I retired before I ever stepped foot on an NBA court, and Gerald Wallace showed up for my retirement. Photos will show during your retirement that plays back your entire career."

he retired before he even stepped on NBA court...then why would Wallace show up for his retirement. lol

And I'm hoping that's a good thing-- to give us another WOW moment for this game in another few days or so

They already had my money. If it's as good as advertised, I'll buy a couple extra copies for friends. This is the type of developer I'm always happy to support. Awesome preview.

Not sure if this was brought up in the part one thread but are the AI teams execute zone defense this year?

In 2K11, I haven't seen the AI change their man to man D.

That's a very good question. I wonder if the AI will look to change the way they defend (besides double teaming) as the game progresses as well.

My biggest gripe is no manual passing... but if the new auto passing work as advertised hopefully it won't matter.

Can't wait for 2k12.

Steve, can you comment any on the online menu structure or menus at all? Like how much of the in game adjustments are streamlined so that a player doesn't have to press Start.

I think its like that a bit though in real games. Early in a game, there's a lot of minutes still to go, the scores are still close and low. A crowd wouldnt go totally nuts about a 3 or an and 1 in the first ten minutes. It's a good play but there's not the same emotional level as a similar play in the last 2 - 5 minutes with the scores tight.

Still have the circle on instant replays?! That is very frustrating to me. I might have to use ReelMaker if it's still in the game. Love some of the new Create-a-Player stuff.
