Be a pro mode is great. The full 20 minute periods and sim to your shift are very well done. Top notch.

What do you mean by "play in the Memorial Cup (WHL)"?

The Memorial Cup is the championship for all 3 Leagues combined.

Yeah, not sure how the WHL got in there.

I will NOT buy this game if there is still sim engine issues. If generally playoff contenders are missing the playoffs and such then I might as go buy NHL 11 again.

I'm a little surprised that there was no mention of the improved AI in be a pro. The CPU doesn't just pass the puck back and forth like crazy maniacs anymore and just generally plays much smarter and more realistic. I'm getting much more enjoyment from be a pro this year just because of this.

GM Mode would be more fun if it had a multiplayer option. Battling out with friends would be good but as a single player mode it tires fast. I tend to play single seasons only as at least this is multiplayer even if it has little depth to the mode.

I find the full periods and realistic shifts to be an annoyance. Between loading and ice time, you're in for 35 minutes a game as a first line/top pair guy. It was a clever feint by EA to make the unlockable boosts take longer, pushing people towards purchasing them, and labeling it as improvement.

I don't like that I switch shifts every two minutes exactly though.

This games saving grace is its on ice action which thankfully is one of the most realistic in all of sports games.
Do you watch hockey? This is hardly realistic in ALOT of respects. Skaters don't start, stop, and spin like this in the NHL. Players aren't able to put the puck on net no matter which way they are facing and with the same velocity. The game is generally much sloppier than it EVER is on this game. That said, it's a fun game for sure, but not one of the most realisitic. That honor probably goes to the NBA 2K series.

We don't need a "what's the most realistic game" discussion in this thread and it's far too subjective to begin with. Besides, everyone knows Mutant League Hockey is the most realistic hockey game EVER.
