I hope you can change the camera angle. If not this mode is useless. I play with broadcast or wire camera angle and I use right stck and shot stiick as camera relative.
As a vet myself, I can see myself getting used to this mode pretty quickly and then not using it at all after I've mastered everything. But to me it's about the journey towards mastery and this does nothing but help that experience.
See me, I squeeze the **** out of my $65. I'll play every mode, doesn't matter. This is something that didn't necessarily have to be done, but was improved anyways to give us a little extra to an otherwise boring, typical practice mode so I can't see why anyone would complain about this. I especially love the Mentor - Student approach they took with the new Legends they implemented. Hopefully more people don't just overlook this and actually get into it.
all of the guys complaining about these insights, do remember this will be 3 insights in 5 days...most games give us that many if we're lucky the whole time.
Not what i was hoping but its cool i guess. I'll definitely be using it to perfect my gaming ability. I think this mode would look 10 times better if it was at a team facility with team colors, practice uni's instead of that 2k one they have in the pics, and i really hope you can use any player in this mode and not just Kobe and Dwight or that would be weak

Most games give out a lot of info, 2k just likes to start when there is like 6 weeks til the release. I'm used to 2k and their methods, they like to go for the 12th round knockout.
Sweet. I'll definitely check into this to get my post game and stuff like changing shots at the rim (hopefully it actually helps this year to do it) for when I play against you guys online.
Edit: two questions:
1. What's the next insight that everyone is dreading?
2. What do you think this "bonus" is for beating the training camp?

so people are complaining about the fact that they are not talking about gameplay, presentations and such. there are still 2 weeks left before the game comes out just relax tha hell up and let 2k do what they do. i'm pretty sure that the insight on friday is all about gameplay anyway.
Only thing that's disappointing is this mode isn't in MP. Hopefully they looked to expand this great idea and start adding it to other modes.
Imagine if your a MP center and in the offseason with your pay checks have a list of greats you can work with over the summer. OMG brilliant! Or being a point guard and going to a camp with Jason Kidd.
Man this is NICE. I was actually doing this last year by creating a new MyPlayer and doing those 10 drills they start you with, but it was annoying because the they would still be like a rated 48.
I'm still curious about how the post game is like this year, I keep hearing so much about it. In 2K11, there are plenty of moves, but they don't really serve a purpose other than aesthetics, because the Post D is close to non-existent. Now, there will be extra tools for the defense, which means there will be a real chess battle down low.
good post, I agree. I have no problem with this mode at all, but Im wondering are we only allowed to use kobe & dwight? if so, then its a waste
This is pure speculation, but it seems to me that each of the 9 lessons will have a dedicated player/mentor combination. Kobe & Jordan for jumpshots, Dwight & Hakeem for low-post offense, perhaps CP3 and Magic for advanced passing? You get the idea.
Personally I'm fine with this layout. Training camp is a great opportunity for new players to learn the complicated control scheme, and seasoned players to perfect the more advanced moves and new additions (anyone see that escape dribble pull up screen shot?). My hope is by giving new players the tools to play a more fundamentally sound game, there will be less need for them to rely on hop step drives or other "cheese" tactics to win online.
Much respect to the dev team at 2k for the obvious level of work they put into the 2k12 title. It's modes like this that bring the 2k franchise to a whole different level.
