Madden NFL 12 Reviewer Impressions: Franchise Mode

In Madden NFL 12, Franchise mode is the greatest beneficiary in the yearly cycle of improvements this year. The mode saw tons of new additions, which span across the entire spectrum of the mode, from the offseason, to roster sizes, to team management and more.

Simply put, for our more ADD readers, Franchise mode is now as deep as any of the greatest modes of this type in our genre. It's just that the User Interface is so poorly designed that I seriously think the Madden developers went out of their way to try to make the game be as frustrating as possible.

How do you edit your imported rookies anyways? Josh Looman said if you have a heisman quarterback you want to rate 85 overall you can do it. How though? During pre season....?

I have a problem in franchise mode... when i relocate my franchise, i cannot change the new team's uniforms, colors, or logo, it just stays as the sharks and the colors are white and blue.... anyone else with this problem?

this article feels right on. i feel it is quite realistic and right on. excellent article.

after playing into a few games of franchise mode, i miss the 'extra point' feature of 10 and 11. just removed. why? not sure.

I would add the player entrances are rather throw away after a few watches. why the focus on the 'mascots' in the NFL i am not sure. since it isn't part of a broadcast experience. only at the game. it works for NCAA football but not NFL.

so far the gameplay feels a bit strange then previous years. feels, slow and clunky. not sure might just be me but i have been playing madden since 1995, haven't missed a year.

The issue with the draft class is not in Madden. It is actually in NCAA 12.

They offer you the option to upload a class twice. The first time is at the end of the season, before you even advance to offseason. If you uploaded this one, Madden has no idea who is leaving, going to the pro-draft, or staying in college.

The second upload is following the 'players leaving' stage. The option pops up right after you advance past players leaving. This one will allow you to have a draft class in Madden.

Now the issue with the imported draft class are appearances. I guess I'll have to spend time decreasing the height of should pads and arm builds in NCAA.
