Da Wolf, you "DA MAN."

In vid 7 one thing that was very good to see..... the lob pass to LeBron goes over his head and bounces on the ground, then he scoops it up for the dunk. Looked very authentic and lifelike.

The ball also seems looser and the computer A.I. plays much more lifelike and uses the dribble moves more intelligently.

2K continues to make strides towards realism in the behavioral A.I department. Just look at the crisp ball movement and the amount of time that each of Miami's big three touched the ball on a given possession and ultimately, ended up taking a good shot and mind you, the gameplay in this video is more than likely set to pro default/casual at the very least. The user(s) obviously wasn't use to the game given how the way the Mavs were playing defensively (i.e. constantly going for steals, bringing a man over to double a Heat player that's not in a position to score etc.) but the CPU didn't automatically try to bulldoze their way to the basket because they were left open even for a brief second; instead, they stayed within the parameters of their offensive set, and were ultimately getting great shots at the basket because of it.

Video three is a good summary of pretty much everything that I touched on in this post from mark 0:28 to 0:39. Look at that ball movement and the bevy of options now open from the CPU pick & roll. Chalmers ended up taking the shot and clanking it, but that was a damn good shot started by the initial play call. I also liked that the CPU controlled Heat team took advantage of that fast break opportunity that it had. Everything looks 'livelier' now and less 'stagnant' with all of the movement both off ball and on ball. And again, this is most likely on default/casual pro . Impressive stuff.

Some other random observations:

-I really like the fact that they've apparently calmed the crowd down and they aren't so frantic and rowdy during times that don't call for it.

-The momentum & situational jumpshots look very good.

-The game looks like it can be played at an entirely new pace that was absent 2K11 (faster).

-They'll (2K) most likely continue their reign as the king of presentation judging by that pregame mash up.

I really wanted to see Dirk get nasty in the post (haven't watched all the videos), but I can't have everything right? Thanks for posting these vids .

Looks like Foot Locker could possibly be implemented in the game since I saw an ad for it in Video #1...hopefully it means that we get more shoes that are coming out soon in this years game (Concords and the new Penny hybrids maybe?).

Magnificent eye EP this is a throw back post to when OS was at it's best !!! If you can see what EP see's your in for a treat this year. 2k12 is special especially in relation to what he is talking about in his post.

first of all I gotta give mad props to DaWolf for coming through with these vids.

the most encouraging improvement I'm seeing is the jumpshots...they are much faster and you can pull up much more quickly...in 2k11, if you were moving and wanted to pull up for a jumper, your player would "gather" for like 2 or 3 steps to stop his momentum before he could even start his shooting motion...now you can stop and pop with super quick jumpers.

in fact, it seems like most of the shot types are just quicker and more responsive with less "gather" to slow you down.

Game looks great so far. I didn't expect it to be a total overhaul of 2k11, just small refinement. Still would like to see Dirk Nasty in the post

My only concern at this point is that the final product we get plays and feels the same as the demo they release. The past couple of years they have felt like two different products most of the time.

Yep that was the best part for me as well.

Thanks for these Da Wolf! Even though it's an early build of the game, it's looking awesome! Thanks again!

seeing some improvement to the bumping...the repetitive "brick wall" bump is rare and has been replaced with a variety of more nuanced contextual bumps.

They are only supposed to trigger now if you hit the defender square in his chest to simulate the fact that the defender won that interaction by getting his body in the correct place.
