Hardly. Look at the TD totals.

Also It's convenient that you chose the last 2 years. In which the former Arian only played a couple games.

Even if you look at this year's totals alone, Charles had only 149 less yards than Foster on 97 less carries. The TD totals are irrelevant because whenever the Chiefs got close to the end zone they would bring Thomas Jones in to finish off the drive. Foster had 10 TD's last year of three yards or less so there's where the difference in touchdown's comes.

Charles is too high. He didn't even lead his team in carries last year.

I think it should be
1. AP
2. Chris Johnson
3. Stephen Jackson
4. MJD
5. Jamaal Charles

Not ready to but Foster in my top 5 yet because he only had 1 great year.

When did carries become a more relevant stat than yards? He came within two-hundredths of breaking Jim Brown's record for per carry average last year. If anything the fact that he didn't lead his team in carries and still put up the year he did should make his stats even more impressive.

I would take off Jackson and put Foster in top 5 list, but Foster should be 4th over Drew Jones since he got hurts last season.

Being a Bronco fan I agree with Charles being a top 5
He's just way too sick!

We don't know if he's durable enough to shoulder the load as a full time back. If he can keep his average up and get 300 carries then I would put him at #1. It's difficult for me to believe that a guy should be 95 overall but was #2 on the depth chart last season.

Charles was hardly #2 on the depth chart last season. Thomas Jones received a lot of carries in the garbage minutes at the end of games that were all but in the books. Thomas Jones was also the guy that would come in on most short yardage situations. He probably will never get 300 carries in a season not because he's not durable but because that's the way the Chiefs play and it's the reason they had the number one run offense last season.

Whether your an every down back or splitting carries like Charles it doesn't affect your rating. Charles should have low fatigue or durability so he can't be an every down back but that doesn't bring down the rating I believe.

For my top 5 it would be AP, CJ, Charles, Foster, and Michael Turner.

Foster should be there. But Charles is a UBER STUD and if you don't think so I don't know what your watching. Chris Johnson, Jamal Charles and ADP are clearly the 3 most explosive and game changing backs in the the NFL....no debate.

Steve Jackson is past his prime and Arian Foster should have bumped him out.

Ray Rice is primed for a monster year with McGahee, Mason and Heap gone. He is probably going to catch 70 plus balls this year to go along with his 1300 yards rushing.

I would have Ray Rice over Turner. Now I know Rice had a let down season compared to his 2009 numbers. But that kid is a big time baller.

The rest is right in my eyes.

Arguing about editable ratings is stupid. Foster had one good season and besides Andre Johnson he was pretty much the go to guy. Jamaal Charles wont have as many TDs because he didnt play in teh short ydg and goal line, Thomas Jones did. The top they gave is fine.

Charles is not a starter because we want to to keep him healthy. Rb's take the most punishment most starting backs have about 4 good years until there skills start falling. Arian foster should be on this list just cause he was so beast in 2010

Not really. Foster played like 4 games his first season and actually played just as good as he did his 2nd season which was his breakout year.
Averaging 4.8 ypc

and the last two games were the two games he became a featured back and had 100 yards for both.

So no, that's not the end of the debate. Because Charles played much more his rookie season and it seems to me that every single time Foster is given the chance he produces.

Another thing. Yes Foster had one good season, but can it be realized that he has not had a bad season? When people say that "he had one good season." It makes it sound like the vet player that had mediocre seasons before and then just got put in the right situation.

That's not Foster. Every time they give him a chance he produces. There is a reason a guy goes from being undrafted and getting no PT to starting in one year and leading the NFL in rushing.

CJ is better and should be rated the same or higher than AP. He's faster, more elusiveness, and doesn't put the ball on the ground. He also doesn't share carries. And in a bad year where every defense focused only on him, he still racks up over 1300 yards.

AP is stronger but that's about the only thing he's got over CJ.

Believe it or not, Johnson had more fumbles than AP last year.

Seriously? Charles is the 2nd best back in the league behind AD. Nobody churns out yardage like he does.

I believe jamaal's rating is just right, the man rushed for 1,467 yard's and carried the ball only 230 time's, now to me that's impressive...as for foster he did win the rushing title but he also carried the ball 327 time's, i mean he carried the ball 97 more time's than charles....thats like having at least 3 more game carries than charles because a Rb avg's 25 to 30 carries a game...so charles should be where he is if not higher ranked.

# 59 bmj2k7 @ 08/07/11 06:29 PM
Glad to see foster not in the top 5, do it 1 year its a fluke, do it 2 years luck but do it 3 years and its consistency, maybe in another year or 2 we'll see foster in the top 5 if he keeps it up, but glad to see jackson get some love, and with Bradford's new weapons i'm sure he'll have lanes to run in this year to keep him in the top 5, when last year he opened things up for Bradford, now he's returning the favor!

Just because Charles avg more yards on less carries doesn't mean he would have kept it up with 97 more carries....thats a ton more carries and any avg is likely to drop and anything is likely to happen in 97 or so more carries.
