Deep ball is open all day. I don't care what people say, all these videos and in every one of them you see a deep TD pass to a WR wide open several yards past the nearest CB.

Plus the acceleration for linebackers seem to be too high or the offensive line doing a poor job of blocking. I am seeing the linebackers shoot through the gaps untouched way too often in these videos on running plays.

Finally a 4-2-5 vid

Doesnt look like the 4-2-5 held up too well

From what I saw, the only reason Boise scored on that long pass play was cause TCU picked a zone defense that got burned. Boise had two receivers on that right side and TCU only had one safety to cover both receivers.

End Result = He had to pick his poison.

I can't speak for the other videos, but the long TD in this one was all about the defensive call. He called a 4-2-5 cover-2 zone. The play worked exactly how it was supposed to against that defense. The CB played short and the linebacker covered the post route, leaving the safety on an island against two fly routes.

They completely overloaded the zone to that side, which is the intent of the play.

Did anyone else hear the PA announce after the first down? Different voice came in "That will move the chains for another Boise State... First down."

I wish the Boise new/all season pro combat's would have been shown. I can't wait to play this tomorrow though!

Exactly. I would hope the deep ball would be effective in that instance. That is basic playcalling.

Plus the 4-2-5 isn't the most effective formation against 5 wide sets

yet again it seems like "four verticals" is gonna be money.

Like others have said the play he picked was a very bad call for that situation so he deserved to get burnt for the touchdown. Only time will tell if the money pass plays are still valid or not. Tomorrow we should learn a lot from the demo build on this situation. Hopefully we can actually play defense this year.

Looks like the O-Line has a little trouble navigating around each other. TCU blew up a pistol run because the guard pulled and the tackle got caught on him and couldn't move to block the LB that shot through the gap. Turned into a 4 yard loss.

That's been a bit of an issue I've noticed over the years, but I'm not really sure how it can be fixed

Of course it is money against Cover 2. It should always be "money" against that soft defense with little to no pressure on the QB.

If you want realism then expect that to be "money"? It's real football when you match up the offensive playcall vs. the zone they are in.

No different than running drags and pick plays vs. man coverage. Someone is coming free if the QB has time to throw the ball.

If you've got zone called where 1 safety is all you've got covering 2 deep WRs then yes, it will be. The touchdown was a result of poor playcalling.

Looks like they may have also fixed the shotgun running. I know it's human picking the plays, but I think this is a coach mode and the BS running back actually gets running yards from shot gun runs.

Saw that first play where Boise ran out of the shotgun for positive yards, I was shocked. Maybe some hope for my Ducks in the game as well.

I like that people jump on and say that deep balls will be money, then individuals who KNOW football shut them down with straight knowledge. LOVE IT.

So maybe someone can educate me on something.

Is cover 2 zone supposed to be completely destroyed by the deep ball every time its called? I mean, I get that it was two WRs running into one S's zone but as someone said, in a lot of these videos you see a deep pass beating the cover 2 zone, even if its just one WR on that side. IF this is normal, then forgive me, I am ignorant, it just seems like in real life I see cover 2 stop deep passes sometimes too...i dunno

Yeah hopefully so. The first couple of runs were money and if it wasn't for the CPU using the protect the ball animation too much he would have scored easily.
