JBHuskers of The Gaming Tailgate sat down with Designer Alex Howell to discuss some changes in Road To Glory for NCAA Football 12.
Quote:
"JB: What was the biggest challenge that you had to overcome in your path at Auburn and what kind of similar challenges can users expect within this mode this year?
Alex: How insanely physically and mentally challenging the game is. No one person could have ever prepared me for the challenges I had in college. From red-shirt workouts at 5 in the morning every Friday, to tackling drills with Pro-Bowler Karlos Dansby, it was a hard life. But it was worth blood, sweat and tear. The biggest challenge that I want to put into RTG from my own experiences is the way you control your own destiny. As much as football is a team sport, if you yourself are not mentally and physically prepared, you will fail. So finding a way to make the experience very unique, challenging, and rewarding to each person is the route I had to go in. "
The whole idea of RTG is to emulate the gameday experience of a player. You're on the field, not watching on TV, so I don't get wanting commentary for this mode.
Mainly because there isnt no player chatter or coach chatter. If there was player and coach chatter, then I wouldnt want commentary. But it is so dull without.

If that was what they're going for then they should take out all of the replays and ESPN presentation.
"RTG has always had a couple of great features that stood out from the rest of the game, such as quick 15 minute games"
This frustrates me a bit. I get it... perhaps they're gearing this mode towards people that don't really want to immerse themselves in a dynasty and are just playing arcade style... but it hurts my ability to dive into the mode. When I sit down for a couple hours, and can blow through half a season - I don't really have to work to make my player good.
The new changes in coach trust and position battles could help keep my interest, but realistic stats while playing linebacker would be amazing... Not 2 tackles, 1 sack = 4 star performance.

Exactly.
Especially when he said it shouldnt be a big deal about 5 min quarters. It is okay with RB, DL, and maybe CB(I gotten 20 INTS in a career). But for other positions you cant get realistic stats. 50 Tackles for a LB or S in a season.
I am going to play RTG alot this year. But it couldve been my most played mode. Im not doing a career with a S and MLB because of low stats.
